Wasn't that always the case about sister/brother or husband/wife duos from the 70s? It was usually the sister that's the better vocal singer than the brother or the wife that was the main attraction(Captain and Tenille). Same with Karen Carpenter. She had a better vocal range than her brother, Richard. It was never really about the brothers or the husband.
I always liked Kristy. She is much better at singing and dancing than Jimmy. He looks awkward, and I wonder if that high part is really his voice he is lip syncing to?
She did those 'Sister of the Bride' moves. She made a appearance last year in LA for 'Pirate Movie.' I missed though cause I wasn't sure who she was at the time.

Notice the times when Jimmy's high voice tries to immitate MJ's vocals a bit? Now, nobody can be the next MJ, but even then, you could sense the popularity of MJ's legacy even in the late 70s. Everybody was copying MJ's vocals, even at this time. Look at Jimmy trying to do a Michael Jackson dance. MJ was influential.
Forgot to say that I've been looking for the Saturday Morning Preview show (I think it was) they did back in 1980 or 1981. They sang Last Dance, Jimmy did Rock & Roll will never die. Donny Osmond was a guest that day. I had this on audio tape but lost it years ago. :(

Wasn't that always the case about sister/brother or husband/wife duos from the 70s? It was usually the sister that's the better vocal singer than the brother or the wife that was the main attraction(Captain and Tenille). Same with Karen Carpenter. She had a better vocal range than her brother, Richard. It was never really about the brothers or the husband.

I always liked Kristy. She is much better at singing and dancing than Jimmy. He looks awkward, and I wonder if that high part is really his voice he is lip syncing to?

She did those 'Sister of the Bride' moves. She made a appearance last year in LA for 'Pirate Movie.' I missed though cause I wasn't sure who she was at the time.
Anyway I've heard shes a teacher now.

It is lip sync. Bring back the late 70s spirit. I simply miss this type of era. The clothing, the hairstyles, the dancing, chereography, etc. It screams 1978 in your face. Love it.

I had the record, too. It wouldn't surprise me that Jimmy's voice is so high and Kristy's voice is so low since the Bee-Gees were hot and Michael Jackson was big around this time. Notice the times when Jimmy's high voice tries to immitate MJ's vocals a bit? Now, nobody can be the next MJ, but even then, you could sense the popularity of MJ's legacy even in the late 70s. Everybody was copying MJ's vocals, even at this time. Look at Jimmy trying to do a Michael Jackson dance. MJ was influential.

Forgot to say that I've been looking for the Saturday Morning Preview show (I think it was) they did back in 1980 or 1981. They sang Last Dance, Jimmy did Rock & Roll will never die. Donny Osmond was a guest that day. I had this on audio tape but lost it years ago. :(

I can't even thank you enough for posting this! SUCH a part of my growing up, Kristy & Jimmy were & have wanted SO MUCH to have some of their appearances on DVD or even VHS like their Saturday Morning preview special & Hollywood Teen, especially. THIS is the closest I've gotten & I'm so ecstatic I could hug U! ;)
