  • Real nice video.

That is a great road to ride.

Only rode it once, and lost my R6 in the first tight turn coming back up from Decker's.

You can only go so fast through turns.

But I'm alive, and I'll ride it again this summer.

  • gravel? I dont see how he went down... there must have been some snad or gravel

  • Riding beyond his ability. It was his first time on the road and he took lead from our most experienced rider on a straightaway. Took that turn at (I'm told by the R6 rider) over 80 and just wasn't prepared to lean into it the way he needed to. The Duc (also his first time, who I speed blocked as cleanup earlier in the ride because he was hot dogging) freaked out when he saw the bike in the road, tried to stop before the accident and high sided on the gravel spit up by the triple.

  • 50kmh limit in some straight simply because is "INSIDE THE VILLAGE" and maybe is just a straight way with fields next to street.. with a f***ng speed trap is just coz they need money... :((

  • I live in genova (u can find it on googlemaps) and there are pleace close to genova where u can find every week end cops in the same place (and its quite better cos u simply close the throttle everytime that u pass that "checkpoint") but the boring stuff is that they love to make control to motorbike, i have a red one and everytime they see me on the horizon they stop me. And check all the part of the bike. In little village we have speed trap cos they need money. Thats true. 50kmh limit in..

  • Somewhat related, in the city where I live (Denver) most cops seem less likely to stop a speeding bike then a speeding car. I was told once that it has to do with our "no chase" laws... but I think I've just gotten lucky.

  • i hope that one day I'll drive coast to coast... but i know that there's lots of trouble with cops there? isnt true? In italy if u go on mountains road is quite impossible to find police... But in the little village can happen to find a speed trap.. But there are lots of place where u can go really fast if u want. The problem here is with the silencer. With new rule "euro 3" u cannot change and we cant make more noise. Its a shame cos i have a ducati too quiet!!

  • Cops really depend by region since each state in the US has it's own Highway Patrol force that could differ greatly from it's neighbors. Local police are run on a county level (64 counties in Colorado) so depending on their budget, size and methods of enforcement their stratagies will differ.

On this particular road they never setup speed traps (fear they may CAUSE accidents by scaring bikers) but a local sheriff patrols the road at all times in case of emergencies.

  • nice landscape really!!.. but not enought corners... :( we have better streets in italy.... and i'm a bit scared by all the gravel at the edge of the street... I think is a bit dangerous...

    ciao ciao from italy...

  • It's true... all of the nice corners are further down the road at the base of the next canyon. Didn't get a chance to make it there, though. :(

  • Nice ride. Although it would have been nice to hear those motors...What are those pipes on the Striple? They look like if the stock exhausts were painted black...looks nice!
