I'd rather this version than Taylor's. I might be old, but I don't like Britney Spear-esque singging accent in Taylor's like "I'd" become "Aaayeeed" and "yeah" on every single ending verse. "say" become "saaaee-yeeeaaah". This one feels like two girl friends shared their sad relationship stories. amazing duet. It's much more personal to me.

Vonda Shepherd's version of this song rocks!! What a talented singer & musician. Taylor Swift is young & pretty & records lovely little tunes in the confines of a studio; but Vonda sings with soul & class. Vonda has richness & depth in her voice that is unfortunately very lacking in the Taylor Swift cover.

I don't think they should always be compared, as I know Taylor Swift covered it and some people will say they like that, and same with Vonda, each singer sounds different and both have put something individual to the song. Like Vonda will be singing this in a more womanly way, so she's obviously going to apply to women more she sings it strongly and emotionally, but Taylor sings it in a way that teen girls prefer, purer I think. :)
