  • The weathering on this loco looks excellent. That's exactly how I'd like mine to look.

  • @mcglock17

If you want, I could weather it for you?

  • You mentioned taking this video with your phone. Have you looked into mounting cameras INSIDE your locos? I think that is the wave of the future. Very cool to operate from inside your trains.

  • @MMODoubter

mounted cameras are very cool indeed! I don't like taking my trains apart, because usually i end up breaking them. However, if I could find a small camera to attach to a flat car or something, i would definitely follow up on that. Right now my layout is very tight, so it would be hard to get a camera to fit through tunnels and stuff. I don't feel like dropping several hundred dollars on a micro camera, so i guess until the technology drops in price I'm gonna have to wait :(

  • Nice engine, even if it is modern (I prefer 1960-1970s era). I like weathering on rolling stock and building, but I like my locos shiny and clean.

  • excellent job, i love these! scale 1:87 H0?

  • @hubertrailroadfan

yup this is all HO scale

  • Nota 10... adorei lindo... Leandro Brasil

  • Nice Weathering ! Don't forget to blacken the inside of the exhaust stack and a little on the outside edges.

  • Great work!!!!

  • @JDeereGP

    Thanks!

  • Cool PSP

  • @zoumca

thanks, its kinda broken now though

  • Then Intermoutain looks great! I jsut got the Central Pneumatic Hobby Air Brush Kit from Harbor Freight Tools here in Louisville, I can't wait to get some paints and start weathering!!

  • Looks real good. Coal hoppers should be more black then dirt but it still looks good. one thing i did with mine is on the inside i airbrushed it a little bit of black so without a load they still look like they were used

  • @UnionPacificRules

As of now they just have the road grime, but I do plan to add coal smudges on them in the future.

  • nice, great job on the weathering

  • @1991conrail

    Thanks!

  • Weathering looks great! Ive created a monster/weathering machine!

  • @bigB6flyer

    Sounds very cool!

  • @modeltrain9500

    I meant you! lol

  • @bigB6flyer

Oh... wow lol... Haha yea im gettin there. I need to have some control over what NOT to weather. I wasnt planning on weathering this engine for a while, but I got a little carried away and now its been dirtied up. I posted this video hoping other peoples comments will make me feel better about weathering it haha.

Thanks for all the help and kind words thus far. I will see you online,

    modeltrain9500

  • Looking great

  • @mike937739

    Thanks!

  • Hi, I have a video that might help you with the main line. I could email it to you but I don't know your email so maybe send it to me please.

  • Looks pretty awesome! As an idea you should model something I saw: On a BNSF GEVO about a year ago I saw one with a ton of dirt built up on the tank. And some one had took their finger and wrote Obama sucks on it. i think you should do that just for laughs and giggles ;).

  • @railfanfromiantha

huh.... somehow Im not sure I should open up politics on a model railroad channel. Political things never end well. Thanks for the kind words though!

  • Great weathering job!! Can't wait to see the progress on your new layout that you are planning! Oh and is it possible you could make a video of the track plan that you are thinking of? I would like to see what it is to get some ideas for my new layout, i got a video of it on my channel if you want to hear/see my ideas for it.

  • @UPRRfan

Thanks! I will start the construction of the new layout when I reach 500 subscribers on youtube. I have the plans drawn up in my head and they were in a model on the computer, but that computer isnt able to be used right now. I will definitely show the plans for the new layout at some point, but when Im not really sure. I will check out your channel! Thanks for commenting!

    -modeltrain9500

  • @modeltrain9500 Your welcome and thanks for checking out my channel!! What type of program did you use to draw the model on the computer? Was it CadRail or what? What ever it is it sounds helpful! Lol

  • @UPRRfan

Well, I have used the model railroad programs in the past, including atlas's program, but I have never been real happy with it. Thankfully, my engineering classes through school give me legal access to the schools registration for full CAD programs. The Drawing program I used was Autodesk, Autocad 2011. Normally the program is several thousand dollars. But the license I got through the engineering programs makes that free for students like me.

    -modeltrain9500

  • @modeltrain9500 That's cool! I am taking a drafting class in school which gives me free access to AutoCad 2011 too, which is very nice. But i was just wondering because I've tried model railroad drafting programs in the past but haven't been pleased with them either.

  • What kind of radius track is on the layout to the left? Keep the videos coming.

  • is that a burned out ditch light already?

  • @Tom1491

I dont think so, although who knows. They are LED lit, but have too many resistors from the factory (miscommunication between intermountain and soundtraxx) so they are too dim to start. I think the new run of es44ac's and the Es44dc models will have that corrected.

  • The layout to the left (with the large concrete yard) is 22 inch radius. The table with the blue lake and PRR bridge is 18" radius. The center table is 18 and 22 inch radius.

  • I got a few questions if you dont mind Answering:

    1. what couplers do you use?

    2. Are all your rolling stock ifrom Intermountain?

    3. Do you have any steam engines?

I am just getting back into the hobby after 13 years that I left it for (no space), so I am doing as much research as I can in order to learn about the hobby itself.

  • @vidfreak727 A good resource that i found very helpful in model railroading is subscribing to the magazine called Model Railroader (If you havent all ready). It has a lot of helpful tips and tricks in it! Good luck and hope you post some videos of your progress!

  • @UPRRfan

I've got the model railroader, there is great stuff in it! Thanks!

  • @modeltrain9500 ya it does and your welcome!

  • @vidfreak727

1: I use Kadee, Accumate, ez mate, proto, and a bunch of other ones. I do plan to replace all my current couplers with kadee metal couplers. They look good and work well for a long time.

2: No, I have rolling stock from athearn, atlas, proto, bachmann, branchline, athearn, walthers, accurail, modelpower, and a few others.

3: Yes I have several steam engines. I have a video titled "my steam engine fleet" I have 2 broadway limited, 3 bachmann, and 1 life like.

  • If you have any more questions or want to talk trains drop me an email at modeltrain9500@gmail(dot)com

  • Looks good david. What would you want to weather a engine for me?

  • @ModelRRMonster

Thanks! I would be happy to weather something for you. Send me an email through gmail and we can figure something out

  • Nice job!

  • @Sabres21Buffalo

    Thanks!

  • FIRST! :D

  • @TheTaurusFan

    Congratulations lol! :)

  • @modeltrain9500 haha thanks! and nice job dude!
