@joshdh95 - Christian bands are just marketing to religious people just like the church. They are probably mostly just as corrupt as the pedophile priests. Bands like "devil wears prada" being a christian band is nothing more than a joke... Albums named "zombie" and shirts covered in blood... It's really a marketing tactic to sell records to religious kids who otherwise would be 'forbidden' to listen to metal. Now they can crank metal and pretend its not sinful, but its hypocritical hehe
Oh by the way did I mention that I'm Christian? and no Buckethead is in fact Not A Christian. but there are still a few good christian bands out there.. I'm really getting into Demon Hunter, As I Lay Dying has a couple songs i can get into, and Becoming the Archetype is really hard if you like metal with only screaming.. but don't hate on Christian musicians as a whole. religeon should only affect the lyrics and it shows at least in these bands I've listed for everyone to check out if they want
@mgs6ps3 Uhh...Christian bands are singing about God because, that's what they do hahaha. That's like saying "Wow...Death metal guys are growling too much in death metal"
@Som1onu2be I think if christians tried they could come up with masterpieces to go along with their fruity lyrics. It just hasnt been done well enough for me to enjoy. I play guitar so naturally i'm gonna listen to buckethead because i wanna play as good as him. Same cant be said for christian rock bands. Who's ever said "I wanna play as good as AS I LAY DYING one day" no one. Everyone wants to be as good as hendrix or yngwie or bucket cause they're the greats. be great
@mgs6ps3 Check out my channel bro. I am not a crappy guitar player. And I am twice as good as I was when my vids were made. I understand, Christians suck with being virtuoso musicians. But, the focus on the lyrics, not the instruments. Naturally, Buckethead will be a good instrument player, considering he plays INSTRUMENTAL songs. I am actually trying to make a Buckethead type band right now. But, as you said, most Christians can't do that.
@Streetking4124 i never said christians cant enjoy great music, i just said christians rock bands compared to buckethead are a waste of sound. probably because christians are more concerned with spreading their virus like beliefs then making real great music.
When I hear this...I see a giant robot with a guitar. Using the super-mega riffs to destroy all he finds dull. This song has made me realize there is another realm of music....Let's all venture into this misunderstood form of genius, also know as...Insanity.
It's purely instrumental. You can't as easily classify a song as any specific genre without lyrics. For all you know, this could be a tribute to Jesus. Probably not... just saying. Just pointing out the ignorance in your statement. You're welcome.
Or a tribute to satan or allah or no one. When i compared it to christian music i was purely speaking of the complexity of the instrumentals, not the message in the music. if all christian bands put half as much effort in creating good music as buckethead did i'd probably listen to christian music more. it's always over simplified with christian music. matches their thoughts
That's because Christian music is more about the lyrics and message, not the licks. There are a lot of artists who do work like Buckethead all over the world, maybe few as popular. The point is, there are tons of people with brilliant musical minds, and I guarantee a lot of them are Christian, or some other religion. This is not exactly the platform to spew your dislike for Christianity.
If christians want to try and be in the music industry let them be citicised like everyone else. they dont have immunity just cause they r christian. fact is that most christian music is simplistic and lacks substance. im not saying christians cant shred like buckethead because they're christian, im saying most of the musicians representing christian music dont push it to the limit, raise the bar or push the envelope. they r 2 worried about being saved lyrics then they r about makin great licks
@1000NoteStreak Right? If anything shouldn't Jewish music be what's discussed here seeing as Buckethead is a jew and that Kaleidoscalp was produced by John Zorn, perhaps the most popular and respected Jewish musician/producer/composer of the last few decades, and was released on Zorn's uber jewish label Tzadik? Hmm. Anyway, anytime Buckethead and John Zorn make music together its something special and this song is evidence of that to the max! haha
@mgs6ps3 I spoke to a guy named Ed Greenwald. in the band classX. Buckethead's first band back in the late 80s and he said that Buckethead went to Damien High School in Clermont CA. And it is an all boys Private Catholic School. So if he's not a Christian Idk why he would go there... lol but regardless. Idgaf if he's Christian or not. still a good guy with excellent music. look up damien high school in CA if you don't believe me. I'm on your side tho. lol
@slowgo93 - hmm You say he went to catholic school but don't know why he would go there if not a christian.. Wouldnt he be a catholic? Not a christian? if he went to catholic school?
Anyways all that aside... Did you pick your school? I would guess he went to that school because thats what his chicken parents wanted.. Many people go to things like catholic school and later reject religion. I seriously doubt buckethead is religious, not anymore than an average joe that is.
@slowgo93 Sorry, but didn't Buckethead live his first 19 years of life in Huntington Beach California before moving to Claremont? Therefore it's highly unlikely that he went to a Claremont high school. I live really close to Claremont and go to school in HB, and I'm pretty sure Buckethead lived in HB for his first 19 years.
im picturing some old abandoned hangar in some eerie industrial setting, ruled by a huge iron man like figure except hes wearing a bucket on his head and theres lots of chickens wandering around.
@crazymatt117 this transformation mode will be tested on the day of the apocalypse so buckethead can protect his park to continue making music for the next era of creatures that evolved on earth after we perish.
O.O Great !

Even the same artist has better songs when they are not talking about christ. Listen to Yngwie's crucified then listen to Yngwie's seventh sign.
