no offense, but your homemade traps would never work for me, because these cats tried to attack me through the cage and they would never even get within 20 feet of the cage if they even sense anyone around. I used a Havaheart trap for $40 bucks, caught 8 feral, wild, nasty cats in about 2 weeks.

Every situation is unique. I manage a colony of 30 cats and they are used to humans being nearby. I need to trap the small percentage that aren't neutered, so my manual release mechanism works wonders in not trapping randomly. I can usually have the right cat trapped within minutes.
