I think he is really good for someone at that age. I think he can become an awesome player. It's so cool that i take lessons from the same person he does!
I find vibrato easy. I always did it instinctively, I have to be told to turn it off! He is really good for his age, just needs to turn the headpiece away from his mouth a fration.
This is my solo for my band competition and I would like to know more..I have been practceing but i need to know how fast I can really go with out messing the song up..

haha, thanks! hes only been playing a little while, but has always been able to flutter tongue. (he was only 8 at this time)

It's called flutter tonguing. Roll your R when playing and you should be able to make the sound without a problem.
