  • My bids would probably eat form the side while the other feeds and get wacked when the other bird gets off..

  • This set up is ideal for health reasons. It keeps the feed free of contamination. Wild birds will try to get a free meal when feed is open. They will eat for free and drop their waste. They carry diseases that your chickens can catch. This deters them from mixing in with your chickens. It will not stop mice, so you are halfway there. Stick a few cats in there.
