  • i aint connected to the internet and i've tried this so many times, keeps saying i need to update, i updated it through usb xbox 360 update files and still nothing!

  • no where in this video does it tell you how to convert videos! liar

  • Does anyone know how to watch videos from my ipod to my xbox?

  • so it dosent matter what kind of thumb drive it is, just as long as its more then a gig?

  • @metroid1985 Correct. Just needs to be big enough to fit the video file on it

  • @dazz4590 so if i have a video thats less then a gig, then i could use a thumb drive that is also?

  • @metroid1985 lol... what a question

  • @SwiftDemise9 im guessing that is a "yes", right?

  • I have a problem with my xbox. I bought a gaming magazine ( games aktuell) and it has a dvd with hd content on it. so i put the disk (hd content side) into my xbox , went to video , choose video and selectedt a review in hd. but it wasnt smooth and it was hanging every 5 sec. why is it doing that?

  • @laff100 Try it on your PC ad see if the disk is faulty.

  • @dazz4590 my pc can't even play a normal dvd fine...but i have 3 other of those dvd's with hd content and they all failed on my xbox...

  • @laff100 Strange... unfortunately I don't think I can help. Maybe try and see if a friend can play the disk in their PC or Xbox. Good luck!

  • @dazz4590 i think i might know what's going on... you see, i also had this problem a few months back so i searched it up and i came across a hd xbox 360 scart lead, i bought if off of ebay and when i used it the disc seemed to run fine... I know it may seem wierd but you may also want to buy a HD ready TV because these scart's only run on HD ready, there is also a switch on the scart to switch it from normal and HD, I hope i helped, Peace!

waisted 1 minute of typing :(

  • I bought a USB hard drive and I put all my movies so I can play them on xbox and it did not work. anyone can you please tell my why? Thank you.

  • @TRIPLOC714OC Did you follow the conversion process in the video?

  • Thanks very much man. I just realized it wouldn't work for me due to the file being divx or avi etc. So fantastic!! now i can watch movies on the xbox without having to connect the computer to it via wireless router and all that annoying stuff! thanks again

  • hey READ THIS COMMENT!!! -- When you download video from xbox live marketplace, it is saved to the harddrive, right? You can also transfer that video file onto a usb (formatted to xbox). Using USBxtafXPLORER you can copy that video file onto your pc. It doesnt have a file type or anything and it cant be converted. So does anybody know a way, you can convert a normal movie into that format that the video taken the xbox was in. This way, if possible, you can effectively save movies to your HDD...

  • when i begin to watch the movie it says go to LIVE to get an update (something like that) but i dont have LIVE adn i dont want to have its an .mp4 file and i used videora xbox 360 converter and im with 9199 (updated from PC)

  • thank u so much.this made things so easy :) love the way u explain.

  • @Irishboy206 Potentially

  • @dazz4590 oh well i cant get this program to work i keep getting an error report

  • when i have my ipod in the xbox the video does not work

  • You need the iPod optional media codec download for the 360. Free on marketplace or google it.

  • @dazz4590 Whereabouts do you find it on marketplace?

  • @thatsafaceforradio google "ipod optional update xbox 360" and its the second one down

  • so theres absolutely no way to copy it onto you xbox harddrive? you can do it on a ps3

  • No you can't unfortunately

  • i have it in mp4 it doesnt work

  • Is it the Xbox 360 preset? Do you have the iPod optional media codec download for the 360?

  • dose it have to be mp4 or wat

  • its the best option

  • Kbakken1 you i know i was wrong THE best way to convert 720p into wmv HD is with movavie 9 it gives great quality and sound but it takes some time to convert

  • Comment removed

  • jellybsly:

Be careful about converting it into a smaller resolution than 720p. I am not sure if this is what you mean by the video "will be much smaller". Yes, the Xbox and TV will upconvert and display it as "720p", but quality is lost from the what the source was.

Upconverting only adds fake information to get it up to scale of the display.

I'm just saying that when you convert formats, just make sure to convert it to the SAME resolution as the source. This way no quality is lost.

  • just a fast convert for xbox 360 is the formatfactory in 6 min it converts 50 mb into 720p on a pentium 4

  • souljapete1 maybe you didn't convert it right maybe its just for ipod touch or ipod5 G

  • With THE xvid4psp you can concert to mp4 for xbox360 imideatly so no psp needed just cbovert your mkv to mp4 pu it on a USB stick and watch

  • If you have PSP, convert the video to wm or avi to play it on your 360 while PSP is connected to the console :)

  • Thanks, great idea!

  • hey i have a psp and i connect it but it doesn't play mp4's

  • You can also use xvid4psp it can convert à lot even something to bluray

  • Thanks!

  • But you have to download the optional media thingy for it to read wm avi files on the 360 console.

  • Nice video, but umm....What is the newest version of handbrake.

    9.4?

  • yep it's 0.9.4 according to the website

  • how do you convert videos flv to mp4 from xvideos to watch on your 360

  • my handbrake doesnot have the xbox360 option? how can i get this?

  • download the most recent handbrake. It will do.

  • @dazz4590 i did at the website and still the same thing.. is it cause i have vista 64 bit?

  • Could possibly but shouldn't. Could you try the software on another pc at all to test it?

  • does it play avi files?

  • You can definitely watch divx encoded avi files

  • thanks

  • is there any way that you could watch a video from your ipod in the 360?

  • yes there is. check jasonleshuk's comment below

  • i want to kno how to copy them to my 360

  • You can not copy permanently movies to your 360 without modding it.

  • Yes you can

  • i got a mp4 format on a disk wen i put it in to my 360 it says i need to update it osr something

  • You may need the optional iPod download from the marketplace. Also the NXE update possibly if you havn't got the new dashboard.

  • can i still go on inloine if my 360 is softmod?

  • Not sure.

  • When I hook up my ipod I can listen to music through my xbox 360 but when I go to video library it says there is no portable device hooked up

  • Yeh the Xbox can't read the videos in the iPod format. So you have to convert the video correctly like in the video and try that

  • cant I just burn it to a CD or DVD?

  • it still has to be in the right format. Once it is, then yes you can burn it to a cd

  • how do you put them on the hdd?

  • You can't copy files from a usb memory stick to an xbox hdd

  • I know that, but is there a way?

  • Surely you're contradicting yourself. No. You can probably do it through modding the console.

  • um when i do it it doesnt let me click on portable divice any help?

  • try another USB port. It seems the Xbox cannot read your device. Is it Mac formated or works on windows?

  • it works on windows and ive tried all 3 ports mabey it just my stuff

  • try and get hold of another USB device like a 1gb drive etc and see then

  • it works thank you!

  • what about an ipod? i have an ipod shuffle and it holds like 1gb or something would i be able to put a video on there and plug it into my xbox 360 like i do for my music?

  • Because of the short space of 1gb you'd probably struggle to get more than 1 video on there depending on length. iTunes won't let you put videos on your shuffle but if you follow jasonleshuk tips in the comments below then you'll be able to do it.

  • u could stream the videos to your xbox 360 with a pc but to me this is better but if u don't have a flash or hard drive u could stream

  • thanks man, been tryin to do this for a while, i thought you needed to use media center or something, ta again

  • Do u need xbox live to watch the video it work great but somtimes i got to a friends ouse he on wireless so icant use live there.

  • No you don't need Xbox Live to watch videos however the other Xbox may require some file to be downloaded if it hasn't been already. It may or may not work...

  • Why can't I watch my iPod videos on my 360?

  • If you mean plugging in your iPod and watching videos that way i don't think its possible

  • Oh ok. Man, I wish it was!

    Thanks.

  • You can watch movies on your ipod on your xbox 360 without itunes. All you really have to do is Show your hidden folders and open the ipod video drive and change the name of the ipodcontrol folder. I just put an x in front of the folder name(xipodcontrol). Then drop your movies onto the root folder and eject your ipod. as soon as it goes black unplug it. Now plug into your xbox 360 and watch movies from your ipod.

  • To go back to being an ipod just shut down itunes, delete the ipod control folder that itunes made and remove the x, that you put so it just says ipodcontrol again and its back to normal. Message me if you need any help.

  • Sweet, thanks.

  • do you delete the whole folder or just the "x"???....if you delete the folder, all of the stuff on your ipod will be gone forever right??????

  • Delete just the x. And when itunes opens up choose not to sync and all your stuff will still be there. Only the settings of the ipod will need to be reset.

  • what folder do you mean by the root folder?

  • Create a folder on the "Root" Which is the main iPod drive and name it Movies or whatever you want and drag and drop all your movies in that folder. once you select portable device from the xbox menu, open the movies folder and start watching your movie of choice. Btw ,AVI files play great and they are around 700 mb each.

  • cheers mert

  • i got to the last part and am about to watch my video, but my xbox is saying that its not supported. what should i do

  • Do you have Xbox Live?

  • yeah. the gold membership. it says it can't play cuz its not supported

  • Did you do it on windows or mac? Also you may need the iPod optional download available for free on the marketplace

  • so basically u just connect the USB 1G flash drive to the xbox and it will play the movie u save on the flash drive?

  • Yes exactly

  • cool

but u can move file to Hard Drive or it can't?

  • unfortunately you can't move them to the xbox hard drive

  • hi i get to the part where the film is on the xbox but when i try to play it ,its says i need a update ,im not ont on xbox live how can i get the update

  • have you got the new dashboard? You can download some of the updates onto a usb stick to load onto your console on the xbox website.

  • where can i download these video updates cuz i get the same prob like what link exacally???? please i give you 5/5 star and sub if you tell me.
