  • A front load washer can not balance one small item evenly during spin cycle. If anyone would ever read their manuals and use a bit of common sense you could see what your washer is trying to do. Just because you paid a high price for something doesn't mean that it can do what you think it should do. RTFM!

  • We are getting the E3 Error code, it walks and we have the same issue as you on the stuck at 8 minutes Help!

  • i dont know about you but we regret getting these machines to many problems our most recent,2 dime size holes on the outer drum barrel water leaking everywhere, plugged them up with marine puddy

  • This is the worst washer ever! It's loud, walks, doesn't clean your whites. I tried to get our landlord to replace it. He says, well, it works, you just need to sit on the floor and use your legs to move it back into place after each load. I love how he said it to me with a straight face and I'm 6 mo. pregnant.

  • Our neptune likes to "walk" in spin cycle. Very annoying and frustrating. I've put a large dent under the door from putting it back. The model i have looks just like this but the display looks different. The dryer made a banging and a booming a year and half ago and has been since that day it started.. Finally died yesterday.. :( they were expensive at the time i bought them.

  • Thats the crappiest washer to ever wear the Maytag name. The original Neptunes had a few bugs in them but the 4000 series that came out in 1999 wasn't too bad after the PHA kit was factory installed. The later 5500/6500 machines made in the 2000 to 2006ish era were great. That one you have is built by Samsung and its total crap.

  • Not all Maytag Neptunes are "lemons". I purchased a Neptune washer and dryer in 1999, both were the 2nd model Neptunes. Never had a problem with either machine, never had a service call on them. Both are working great.

  • How do you get the Coins out from under the gray things!

  • can u do a wash cycle in the maytag for me thanks

  • poor you what dreadful machine.I you have got rid of it by now

  • I have the same machine...with one jacket, it will stay on 8 minutes forever attempting to redistribute the load and properly balance it...It is doing exactly what it is designed to do....

  • that sucks!

  • This problem has plagued me for the last year. No matter what I do, my Maytag Neptune exhibits the same problem. Yes, I paid $2800.00 for my pair and am experiencing disapointment, after disapointment, after disappointment. One of the worst washers ever built. I thought I was buying the best. Don't buy an front load washers from Maytag. You will be disappointed too.

  • nowaday, Nobody would like to make durable products because they just after the production of parts replace & labor repair cost...

  • I don't know much about that version of the Maytag Neptune, except that this version was made by Samsung (while Maytag was still in business). Some Maytag front loaders made by Samsung from what I heard were lemons. I know someone with the original Maytag Neptune front loader made by Maytag (w/o a window), and that one always had to have the circuit board replaced every 6 months to 2 years, because it shorted out.

  • ive posted another video that shows the unbalanced washer without the drawers. this washer was 100% perfectly level by the repair technician and after several normal loads, it becomes unbalanced and again the looping of the spin cycle. please check out the other video and anyone else with this or other problems with the 9700 series, please contact me as I am preparing a case vs maytag.

  • @wapready same problem here with walking/vibration/balance... any progess on a case?

  • The problem of course is that you're trying to spin a single item, which appears to be a jacket of some sort, perhaps constructed of a thick, highly-absorbent material? The machine probably will never be able to balance it for full-speed spin. You can get it to balance by adding two or three large bath towels. More individual items so the machine's distribution process can balance them evenly around the drum.

  • No the problem is this happens with full loads as well. As I already commented, I just took video during the load with a heavy coat. Balance is not the issue. The issue is regardless how many items are in the washer, it will rock itself and walk so hard, it becomes unbalanced.

  • I didn't read all the comments, video shows the one item trying repeatedly to balance. Walking is a different issue typically caused by the weight not being evenly supported on all corners. This can be subtle and may happen even if it is "bubble level." Try placing a sheet of paper under each leg, or maybe just the front two. Set it to spin with a normal load and then try pulling each paper out. Which one pulls out easiest adjust that leg down slightly to minimize the vibration.

  • Again, already noted that i've had this pofessionally leveled and it again becomes unbalanced and rocks. This model is definetely an isse as others have exact same issue. My washer now has the drawer off and is sitting directly on cement with the legs it came with. Again using a bubbled level it was great for about 3 loads and then starts to walk again. Been having this issue for more then 2 years and maytag is not helping even though I have 5 yr warrant on most parts.

  • my washer does this when it cant balance the load. i thought it was messed up to until we balanced the legs and then everything was fine.

  • Do you have the drawers like I do? I've had maytag come and balance the machine so it was perfect, bit it walks it's way back out of balance, hence the real issue.

  • this should be a product recall.

  • Maytag offered me a 30% discount on a new washer/dryer and thats the best they can do. I am so mad, I will be strongly boycotting maytag for anyone i know. I now have a $3000 heap of metal in my basement. Stay tuned for more videos and possibly even a website devoted to assist other customers that have been duped by this company.

  • And yes. Fully agree. Our issue happens on full loads as well. Just had the idea to film it during that load. Usually seems to happen Mostly with towels and sheets, heavier items. Perhaps the motor is not strong enough?

  • Yes. It has been leveled by myself and also by the repair tech. Unfortunately it walks like crazy causing the unbalance. See the video I put under more info for another person having the same walkng issues. Thx for suggestion.

  • oh yeah...also it is harder for the washer to balance out the load if you have just one piece that is heavy likee a pair of jeans or a sweater in it...I noticed that with mine and it took a while for the washer to tumble until it sensed that it could kick into the max extract due to the load being uneven.

  • it looks as if your washer isn't balanced...have you tried to level it some more? I have a maytag 3000 series front loader set and it doesn't move when spinning...
