regedit.exe is the executable for the Windows Registry Editor. It is used to view and change the settings in the system registry.

go to start menu and hit run

then type "regedit.exe" on the box.

If you don't have that,

two possible reason

1. your account is not an admin

2. you've a virus on your pc. that prevents regedit.exe to show.

i have a problem here when i hit f8 to go into safemode it loads up the blackscreen hour glass the symbols on the corners then it switches screens to blue, in the middle says " to begin, click your useer name " don't understand. just reenstalled the o s xp pro and it always boots into normal mode without password-thats the way i like it- any thoughts about safemode? thaks for fast reply
