  • This was pretty funny some of the families in my area must have came from that area though cause the accents even a few hundred years removed are very close. That and the fact up untill 50 years ago my backwoods area still spoke like we'd just got off the boat from england in 1750 or so.Then new blood started moving in.

  • The American guy sounds Swedish maybe a little Scottish.

  • @spilsbury1947 Yeah i can see the swedish thing and your not the first person to mention it! I am gonna have to ask him if he grew up somewhere else.

  • lol. he sounds like a Swede!

  • @TheMinisterofDefence yeah m8 i know, wonder if he was born somewhere else. I might have to ask him.

  • @chinwart btw, what is the definition of 'Geordie' for us Americans and non UK types who don't know much about it? What specifically is the region, and where does the term derive?

  • @TheMinisterofDefence basically a Geordieis someone born in Newcastle area, some people say it someone born within spitting distance of the River Tyne

  • @Coffeeandasliceolife thanks for that. Any idea why is is called "Geordie' as opposed to 'Tynie' or something else? Is it connected to the name 'George' somehow? interesting stuff :)

  • @TheMinisterofDefence search on wikipedia for Geordie. Has quite a bit on there. YT wouldnt let me post the link

  • @TheMinisterofDefence Geordies are from the North East of England in a city called Newcastle. I live about 10 miles south and i class myself as a Mackem (Mackem meaning! "Make them" from ship building times in the area) Which comes from Sunderland. I live in the middle in a town called Washington! Hope this helps bro!

  • @chinwart thanks for that info. UK accents are such a fascinating study. so many of them! so cool!
