Because they are killing innocent people on behalf of the evil politicians and corporations of this country who are only interested in controlling the vast energy resources and strategic land and sea routes of that part of the world. The Americans are not fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq and Pakistan for our freedom. Anyone who believes that is a brainwashed jackass. They are fighting and dying so wealthy bastards can make even more money. Get real ok?
its their job to get the job done there, where there sent to
and dont get me wrong, i aint no "call of duty, war is cool guy" ok but i think its better to fight terrorism in countries like afghanistan or iraq than to do nothin and just watch how these cowards kill innocent people all over the world you know
@DaCevkoch Look my friend I'm not as rabid as I sound but I am 56 and I lived through and just barely missed being drafted during the Vietnam war which history has proved to have been unjust on the part of the USA. My point is that THE USA IS NOT FIGHTING TERRORISM IN AFGHANISTAN..at best fighting terrorism is a small side business which much effort isn't put into. Our leaders are lying to us now just as they lied to us during the George Bush regime. The wars over there are about making money
@DaCevkoch I've heard some wonderful, heartening news from Germany lately about the anti-nuclear protesters some of whom have chained themselves to railroad tracks in order to stop trains from France full of radioactive waste material bringing them to dump sites in abandoned salt mines in your country. I applaud such dedication and bravery and my eyes are wet with tears at the thought of their courage.
i think its a good thing, because me at least dont want some radioactive dump, and its only a matter of time untill something fucks up with our "nuclear factories" (dont know the word, assume you know what i mean)
i my eyes, mrs. merkel is in many ways really uncapable
@DaCevkoch In my opinion the US armed forces have several missions in that part of the world: to defend the projected fuel pipelines from the Central Asian Republics which must go through Afghanistan to get to Karachi to bring oil and natural gas to the Indian Ocean so China and others can ship them home...the main reason though could be that the American "contractors" are paying out big bribes to politicians out of the enormous profits from their dubious businesses
@DaCevkoch The German Army is there I presume for primarily military reasons or your governmnent would have sent engineers and humanitarian volunteers instead of soldiers, nein? According to my sources on the internet as of October 8, 2010 48 German soldiers have been killed and over 200 wounded in military action. Perhaps they believie they are fighting terrorism but to the Afghans they like the Americans are the terrorists
@DaCevkoch Hey komrade, I'm sorry about the guys from your town but millions of your people died back in the thirties and forties because of people like Hitler, Jodl, Keital, Krupp, etc. The American leaders may not be as savage in public as the Nazis were but they essentially have the same goals. There have to be token charity organizations there to help bolster the lies of the real reasons for the occupation
@DaCevkoch Why is it that America is not fighting communism today then? Why is Communist China our best pal and biggest business partner. If communism was evil then it must be evil now no? Read some stuff on The Pentagon Papers and listen to videos of Noam Chomsky on the subject of the Vietnam war. Killing the Indians, enslaving the Africans, and the Vietnam War are all the same kind of American crimes. Wake up meine freund wenig naiv.
Indeed, Indeed My heart goes out to those brave men and women, and to the families of the fallen. This is a really good video, and thanks to the original poster!
Zachbachisfu.........You should have been in Vietnam, against your will. The military draft was taking almost all of us then; ( students, Medical Doctors, nurses). You might have a different perspective if you could view it from some rice paddy.
A great scene from Apocalypse Now.. when the crew of the gunboat are all smoking. catching rays on the deck and they sing this song or another soul classic. That scene is legendary. You can't keep good men down; we all owe the Vietnam vets a debt we can never repay. Never in history was success in war measured by "body count", and Washington is still sending our best and brightest out to fight for a piece of high ground one day, and ordering the troops to abandon it the next.
God bless all of the soldiers, nurses and personnel who were in Vietnam. May the ones who lost their lives rest in peace, may their families and loved ones feel comfort. God bless all of you Vets who struggled and fought so bravely, who lay awake with fear, who sacrificed so much and received nothing in return. God heal your hearts, your pains, your fears, your worries, you all deserved the utmost respect on coming home. God bless you all and provide for you.

This video can be a tribut to all fallen soldiers and civilians of all wars around the world.
"All" means the germans included.
May everyone of the fallen rest in peace.

Why we Germans can not have on youtube a clip like this, for remembering our victims and soldiers of the last great and unnecessary war?
Once we fall against the Americans, nowadays we fall for them - what kind of stupidity is this?
We only want to become free again and militarily neutral by our own new constitution.
No one of us want to die anymore for any war and for anyones interests...are there not enough wounds on our souls and country?
Look at my face for the tracks of us Germans...

sure thing
ive got to admit youre right, draft is a dumbass idea
ive to say too, that you really got more knowledge about the political situation in the US than me, since im from germany
but in our country we got the same discussion you know
almost everyday its says in the news that some soldier got killed
BUT i also think that theres a big difference between our countries
see, the "bundeswehr" is mainly "helping" people i think
i mean helping like, building wells, etc,
