I think there is more than that to the design of the video. This song is about the nationalistic tendencies that arise again in so many countries. That's why they present themselves so stereotypically in this video. They present a friendly Uncle Tom/beach boy image but at the same time keep a keen eye on their shore. Not everyone is welcome, for it is "Mein Land" (my country). This is clearly a pointer to the debate of "leading culture" here in Germany.

But don't get me wrong. I think the song isn't only about the German situation. Like I said - nationalism is on the rise again in many countries. As the crisis proves to become worse and worse, many people feel the idiotic need to see some heads role. Notice also how the video is at odds with the lyrics of the song. While the video is colorful and welcoming (at least until short before the end) the lyrics aren't.
