Well, three shows into the post-Humph era and the show sounds as good as ever. Personally, I like Jack Dee's hosting the most - his "sheltered housing" ad-lib was pure Humph!
Stephen Fry's snide replacing Humph's grumpy old wish-I-wasn't-here persona ? I dunno. Littleton could do read double entendres off the page with such perfect delivery playing it off like he wasn't really aware what he's said - no one would buy that from Fry, who won't be able to resist putting that little aren't-I-clever twist in his voice.
I've just read elsewhere that Radio 2 are handing his show to Jamie Cullum/Callum (whatever). I'd say that was like replacing St Paul's Cathedral with a Portakabin! :(
I missed seeing the Salford show by a gnat's crochet - by the time I received the email from the ISIHAC office advertising it there were about five seats left at the back!
I hear Samantha has been keeping busy. Recently she's been helping the old archivists with their new sound insulation. Tomorrow, she's going to get acoustic tiles up in the studio, and if there's time, she's hoping to get felt up in the office...
Humph was quite simply the best standup comedian we never had. He could read the phone book and make it sound funny!

I'd been listening to this show for years before I realised that Samantha doesn't exist!

@noahbald
Oh yes she does, she's sitting on my left hand as I'm typing this very slowly with one finger.
She says she'd like me to use more fingers, but I haven't yet finished picking my nose.
