ahha come to mines in central queensland man! 5 trailer roadtrains with an signature in the chassis of one of the trailers and hauling 450t gcm of coal!
@dennismlns That's standard equipment on any Australian prime mover; for helping to keep the dust in the air cleaners to a minimum, to help keep ou the water (some of the roads can get flooded) and to help keep the inbound air cooler. air near the road is a lot hotter, especially when the temperature is 40+ degrees Celsius
I own a 2000 W900L with a C15 and a 18 speed eaton. I would love to hook up to a road train just once to see what it would be like. I wonder what the Gross limit is on a train with the max trailers?
These big rigs can be a max length of 53.5 metres and are restricted to an even lower speed of 90km/h - the biggest ones I personally have seen are two trailers at approx. 36.5 metres long.
Actually, on non-tourist single direction haulage roads, there's no limit to the amount of carriages a truck can carry. I saw a 9 carriage timber road train on a Karri plantation in N.T. It would've been 150 metres long.
LOL ROFL......a CAT you say LOL, Cummins rules in the truck world dude. The red Badge Rules the road. btw a 600 cat cannot keep up with a 600 signature cummins, horses for courses.
yeah sorry, but they are small road trains. i have seen 5 and 6 trailer fuel trucks going across the nulabor (middle of Australia), now they are massive. but those trialers were pretty big, tri-axles are big! especially in the 5 and 6 trailer road trains. if you find any post them i would love to see some in action!!!
there not even quads ?

ATS20 is a older W-Model Kenworth, not a C500 Series - the Mack is a V8 Titan, 610hp - the Freightliner is a old FLC112!

Yeah they are big i drive a C510 out of Koolyanobbing Iron Ore mine, and that runs Twin engines

The engine in the "power trailer" is a ISX rated at 400hp - the engine in the prime mover is the Signature 600!

@Signaturegen2 yep,,, I been there,,but the ones I drove were QSX 19 litre cummins,,, at 600,, with the 450 pusher.

Keep the dust out better
gm16v149 4 years ago
to reduce the amount of dust they suck in.. alot of roads in the outback are just tracks
robbie5380 4 years ago
@wmichswingers They are upthere so the air cleaner will not get clogged as quick on those dirt roads.

If you saw 6 trailer trucks they must be short trailers. The maximum legal length anywhere in Australia is 53 metres.
