I keep very strong to my opinion that the only reason people are "preferring" Shaytard's wife's version is because they are blinded by their adoration for the family, and not actually because her version is better. The Wailin' Jennys are incomparable, and technically much better singers. Still, people can have whatever opinion they want.

I admit i like "Mommytard's" voice and midwestern-style strumming pattern better, but for all u "FTW's" and "IMHO's" out there, the real talent, soul and work is in the writing of a song. Sure, there are some amazingly unique and personalized covers out there, like Jimi Hendrix's cover of Bob Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower", but most of the credit should go to the songwriter. Performers certainly should get their due share but i just hate when songwriters are overlooked in the music industry.
