keep in mind that the dye adhears to EVERYTHING!! including metal, so i would strongly recommend using a pot that you will NOT BE COOKING FOOD IN after dying cloths in it. and anyone who tells you not to worry about it is completely INSANE!!!, very dangerous!, dont put dye anywhere near anything your gonna use for eating or cooking, includeing spatulas and other stirring utensils,
Just a quick ???? Did you just let it air dry....And do you just wash it regularly after....How long after do you wait to wash cloths after dying??????
Hi Josefine:) My name is kellie and i LOVED your hair tutorial!!! maybe you can upload another video of doing another curly hair style because i love curling hair:) or maybe you can at least post a video of how u cute you hair cuz i have really thick blondish brownish hair like you and your hair is to die for:) THANK YOU LOVE YA!!!
hi, hope that i'm not sounding rude, it's just that i didn't get a reply to my lust comment, or mayby u havn't been online lol, anyways just wondering if you could do another video showing how to dye a t-shirt as I need one for a christmas do at the end of november, if you wouldn't mind making a video as it's easier to understand that in writing lol, thanks for your time, :)
Hi, just watched your video on how to dye the clothes, and was just wondering if you wouldn't mind making a video on how to dye a t shirt using the same method, and would you also mind going through the things that you need more in depth like for example showing us the best times when you need to wear the gloves etc, thanks :)
@wonderwoman71810 - sorry to get back to you so late, but this sounds like it might be a bit tricky to do. i would try bleaching it multiple times to get it as light as possible, then dye it green. you may need to dye it green twice. but i'm not sure, i've never tried this.
I'm about to dye some pants. until the help from your video I was unable to determine when water was boiling.. thanks for the help! (cute dj session and dying fact).
@buffpnoy14 likely use whole bottle (especially if going dark).. I don't really have enough experience to give advice other than recommending reading the bottle and watching a couple vids on youtube.. (use hot water..? salt to set dye..? wash separately from other clothes or by hand after..?) ..just do a little research and go for it.. good luck/ have fun!
@jorgesun7 - nono, the pot is fine and still being used for cooking! the dye is from my local craft store (tall mouse). yes i do have one, but thanks so much, you're sweet!
I have a bright yellow cardigan but I never wear it since it's so freaking bright...and I was wondering if I do the same thing you did and dye it black, will it still hold the dye and everything?
Hey, I want to dye my skinny jeans red, but I want it to be permanent as well vibrant. The jeans are naturally white, I heard Dylon works but someone was saying, colour goes by weight of clothing?
Use clorox, mixed in a bottle with water and spray it, check back every 15 minutes. Do this in a bathtub, but I would recommend buying the jeans white originally. :)
Not if the fabric is synthetic. You saw how the seam of my skirt (a polyester thread) was still brown after the dyeing. Only natural fabrics absorb the dye.
Hello, i have used rit fabric dye and dyed several clothes of mine recently. i notice there is a weird odor to these clothes after dying them. how do you get rid of the dye smell?
One question, when your fabric is soaking, does the water have to be hot or can you turn off the fire and let the water cool as your dyeing for fabric...
Radical Tutorial Video on dyeing fabric. I dyed two Ardyss under garments black with great success (even though I forgot to wet the garments first :0P, it stilled grabbed the dye very well!). This video was exactly what I was looking for & helped tremendously. Job well done! ☻
Mine was in for 3 hours, but 2 should be more than enough. This also depends on the size of the garment. If you're dyeing a large coat, more time is needed.
As for your knit--this depends on what it is made of. If its synthetic, the dye will not cling. If its natural (wool, cotton) then it will work!
Yeah, that's not going to hold the dye. The stitches in my skirt are synthetic and they didn't hold the black dye--they are still brown. I don't know what else will work. I think you're better off buying a new sweater (:
great job! i have a question, like if i wash it couple of times in the laundry, will the colour come off? or blend in with other clothes together? or if i get it wet from the rain or w/e, will the colour leak out? and like go on to other clothings? lol thx
once the water is boiling do you turn the stove top off or do you just lower the heat and let the clothes sit?

LadyZombini 2 years ago
Yeah, that's not going to hold the dye. The stitches in my skirt are synthetic and they didn't hold the black dye--they are still brown. I don't know what else will work. I think you're better off buying a new sweater (:

DiorChick223 2 years ago
The color does fade in the wash, but very slowly. It does not rub off in the washing machine, or when wet in general.
However, when you wash it for the first time (after rinsing color out), I recommend washing it alone.
