everyone says that they miss "this" kanye. I personally have not seen him change one bit (and I was with him from the start). Sure, he maybe turned into more of a douchebag as the years went by, but he's only improved lyrically and cinematically. For example, graduation (in my opinion) was his worst lyrical album. His best lyrical album was obviously dropout. But yeah everyone should stop complaining about kanye. He's only getting better...
@TheHipHopArea1 because people need to come to grips with the fact that his entire world has changed. since dropout, he's become a millionaire, he humiliated himself TWICE on national television, his fiance left him and his mother died. Kanye has ALWAYS been a douche. His struggles have just gotten bigger.
Hey everyone, if you can can you please check out my cover of Linkin Park Lp.. The Catalyst and tell me what you think and subscribe if you like!!! Type in: Km1 - The Catalyst
@1234bboys To determine how good today's music you have two options, listen to Kanye West, or listen to the underground rappers like Big KRIT because that's the only way you can get your hands on quality music anymore. The only time I pay attention to the mainstream is if an underground emcee blows up (J. Cole & Lupe Fiasco) or if Kanye puts out a new song. Otherwise, the mainstream is worthless to me.
@DJRedMEDIA Lupe underground? The same lupe that does commercials? The Vevo Nazi Lupe? The same Lupe that got his label to get rid of all his songs from lasers to stay off youtube for almost a full month? Lupe aint underground and hasn't been for quite awhile. He's a mainstream artist that mimics an underground rapper.
@TennAkeySAINT I wasn't aware that he's drawn such a large following since the Lasers album. I've always thought that "Touch The Sky" was the most exposure he ever got. Even though Lasers was an average album by Lupe's standards, it's still good to see the mainstream is taking notice of good acts. I knew that J. Cole was getting pretty big with his stuff but never knew the mainstream cared for it. I thought they still liked Gucci. Good for them, maybe the masses aren't as dumb as we thought. lol
@DJRedMEDIA Agreed. I have heard a tad bit of skyzoo's work and I don't hate him. Ill certainly look into him more now that Ive heard his name a few times. But no Lupe is pretty famous mainly because of Superstar, Hip-Hop Saved my life, Words I never said and Show goes on. I personally used to be a huge Lupe fan until I came to the conclusion that he's not as smart as he sounds in his raps and that he seems to be a mainstream artist with mainstream goals, with the mask of an underground rapper.
@skateconnor Maybe YOU wouldn't consider it. But everyone that seen his commericals, seen him on fox news multiple times, his albums sell pretty well, and he is all over the radio....so what hasn't 'blown up' about him?
@TennAkeySAINT Dont get me wrong, I'm a huge Lupe fan myself. i think he is a lyrical genius. I have all three of his albums, but Im guessing the reason he's on fox news is because he called out both Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck on being racist. but i wouldnt know, because im a democrat. In my opinion, he never really made it as big as he should have, like Kanye who has made triple platinum multiple times
@skateconnor no lolz...he went on their to promote his album, and then went on their to argue with Bill O'reilly and made himself sound like a total ass. Im a republican but Bill O'Reilly is an idiot and lupe really didn't seemed like he knew what he was talking about. I used to feel like Lupe was a lyrical genious too, until I found other rappers who made him seem dumb.
@TennAkeySAINT He's not my favorite, Kanye obviously being my favorite, but hes made some songs that blow my mind away. i mean i have a very large range of rappers i listen to from all era's, and its still nice to listen to him, but just because i've listened to him since food & liquor so i've heard him expand his rapping over the years. but thats just me
@TennAkeySAINT If anything though Lupe needs to set his sights on signing Skyzoo, that guy is far too talented to stay in the underground, if you can out do 90% of the underground, then you deserve some "Nas" type respect.
