I would love to see the other guy who stars with russ in this ad and the clay pigeon shooting ad also having a castella classic cigar with russ,if I did these ads russ would hand a cigar to the other guy and they'd both puff on one together cigar in mouth while doing the activity

I was Russ' PA and this was filmed in Walton-on-the Thames on St Patricks day 1989, we had both come back from holiday. I had been to Tenerife and Russ was back from somewhere even hotter, god it was cold when we arrived back in England.

It was so cold the makeup artiste had to put makeup on Russ' hands because they were blue, but it was worth it. It won 'The Golden Break' award of the year!

The castella ads were the greatest, along with the hamlet ones. Shame they had to be banned. The second part of this ad was good too, where Des O'Connor gets his revenge by using Russ Abbott records as clay pigeons!
