@jmbbala - Excellent question. There are several techniques depending on how large the magnets are. If they are up to 0.5 inch cubes in size I just hold one in each hand and bring them together from the side and let them slide on top of each other from the side rather than letting them slam together. From larger magnets I would use a wooden or plastic wedge. Let the magnets come together with the wedge in between then slide the wedge out. I have a video on youtube showing this.

once we crashed an old crt monitor from side to other side with 18 by 18 by 6 cm magnets which once caught my friends bike and we were struggling to get it out for like hours when we went to my dad and he used a forklift to help us :D
