This dispatcher was very dick headish! He doesnt realize that peoples pets are like their children! But hes more worried about the damn firearm, and i bet when the cops got there they treated you like a criminal because you said you were going to shoot!
Getting attacked by a pit bull is "ethically" no different than being attacked by a wolf. Is it "bad" or even "a crime" to defend against a life threatening attack? Absurd. A victim of assault who is able to defend himself is still a "victim". The 911 supervisor was very insulting, and showed NO concern for the victim or his dog, and NO concern for the fact that a viscious dog was still on the loose.
Is there no concealed carry law in Kentucky? Your more of a gentleman than I am, if a dog attacked my dog I would break leather and fire..........absolutely NO reservation.
i think maybe the florence, ky. dispatcher in question had a review and some good came out of this... i hope! and thank you for your service Army Guy...
Since when is it illegal to be "armed with a handgun". Just because this douche is a police dispatcher doesn't mean he knows crap about the law. I'm almost always "armed with a handgun" and if a pitbull attacks me or my dog you bet your ass I'm gonna burn a hole right through the monster. I am an American, born with the right to the armed defense of myself and my loved ones!
I appreciate that the police have a very difficult job and frequently come in for outrageously flase criticism, and let's face it, we always want them there when we need them, but despite their duty to protect the public, and they often do so losing their own lives, this despatcher is a bit daft, hysterical and unreasonable.
I would kill anything or anyone that was endangering my dogs life if it were absolutely necessry, just as if I were defending my own children.
mean pit bull dogs and dispatchers that show no respect for the public under attack must go... so sorry to here this about your miniture pinscher and your parents.
i know how ya feel...my mom and dad were walkin our dog, a miniture pinscher, and this pit bull came chargin at them and went right for my dog, he got a hold of him before my parents could get him and grabbed his leg and wouldnt let go, the owner came down and tried to help..in the end my mom had been bitten on her leg and hand and my dad was bitten on his hand as well..but my dog got the worst, we had to have his leg amputated..but he is gettin along fine now, im just glad we still have him
not sayin it 100 % wasnt a pit but there are a few breeds tht look similiar and cops instantly assume once they see a bulky dog but ur pup is pretty .....no hard feelings dont punish the breed punish the deed
shit happens and it prolly wasnt a full pit.......maybe a mix with an awefull owner they dont attack for no reason i kno this because i own one shes 4 months and about 45 lbs i can walk her without a leash...
it is with great sadness that i say this is very real....
also, i was not quick to point out it was a pit bull dog as you can here on the 911 dispatch.. while i was under attack i said i think it was a pit bull dog or something... as it turned out i was correct in my ID... this could really make you think twice abut calling 911
well i sure hope next time you can study up on your dogs and hope to your dont misevaluate another dog... seeing as though in the recording your not even sure if it was in fact a pit bull... wonderful... the stupid public.
@sayruhbeth You're* (Don't call people stupid when basic English eludes you.) Stick to the trailer parks and ghettos, with the rest of the pitbull owners, pumpkin.
how could you be so calm talking to that retard on the phone. gosh, he sounds like a complete retard "oh i'm so smart, i need to protect the public " . Did the court say anything about the dispatcher? they need to fire him!!
I'm sorry to hear about your dog getting attached by a pitty... they are a powerfull breed. I own one but she is socialized with other dogs and is a lil sweetie... I probably would have shot the dog too to be honest with you
this is ridiculous, ive been bit by chihuahua, an australian elk hound and a few other, but never a pitbull. does that mean all of them should be "killed" because there owner doesnt know how to properly train a dog. the only thing my pitbull bites is his toys and the occasional shoes when hes playingand gets too excited. pitbulls just get the most attention.
thank you for your support and comment... one thing i have learned about making a 911 call, when the word GUN is mentioned, the dispatcher and police alike become Death Ear.. they here nothing past the word GUN!
The dispatcher was a jackass. The guy didn't say he was going to shoot PEOPLE. He said he was going to shoot a friggin dog that should not have been loose. For the "safety of the public" they should be looking for the damn dog and moronic owner.
thats fucked up. but listen if that ever happens again (i pray it doesn't) use your weight get the dog on the ground, go for the eyes, and use a belt or your t-shirt to rap the dogs mouth shut. call and wait for help. believe me it works
Its funny how real dog lovers show sence and please always blame the deed not the breed .this so sad but dogs are bad news if not trained this a dog that has gone back to is wild state
@wvguy8258 if i knew what i know now about the pit bull i would have shot it on the spot! i don't think i will ever call 911 again. just point and shoot! i hope that the dispatcher has received serious retraining or realized that kind of job just wasn't for him.
@sauloorozcob thank you, your right if i didn't have a hand gun.. i don't think he would have dispatched the police. the dispatcher still has a job! many people don't have a job. thank you
Wow I cannot believe that 911 operator. I am amazed at how calm you remained while dealing with him. That conversation would have gone very differently had I been talking to him. I can' t believe he thought it was ok to let the pit bull attack you and your dog and do nothing about it. You had every right to defend yourself from that dog. My poor puppy got attacked by a pit bull today. Thank god we were able to get it off with "minimal" damage.
Sounds like everything worked out for the best.I had a pitbull that lives its life in a pallet yard dive over a 10 ft fence and come after me and my pitbull. If I had a gun I would have probably shot it after the way it was freaking out but all I had was 2 unopened soda cans and I was going to smack the shit out of its head.It ended up smelling my dogs butt and wandering off.
@MrSafetymeeting i here it time and time over and over again.. sounds like you used good self control and did the right thing. i bet you would make a responsible gun owner... in my case i could not get the police dispatcher to realize that i was still under attack and that i might have to shoot the pit bull! the dispatcher was more concerned about me having a gun than helping me while i was under attack... i have a gun permit and was in my rights to carry the gun and use it to protect my self.
The majority of "pit bull" attacks are from dogs roaming free, which is an obvious sign of a bad owner. But people always blame the dog... A Golden Retreiver killed it's owner so they looked into see if the dog was abused, and said it wasnt the dog's fault. If it even looked like a "pit bull" they wouldn't of looked into it they would just kill it.
This, I've heard that you wanted to shoot the vicious dog, am I correct? So, I understand how you felt that you wanted to hunt down the vicious dog after your dogs have been attacked. My suggestion for you is to not to do anything, other than call the ASPCA to apprehend the vicious dog. DO NOT MIND THIS DAMN GUY AS AN OPERATOR, ALL HE WANTS TO DO IS BADGER YOU FOR NOTHING..
i was still under attack and called 911 what i was trying to say is please get here fast before i have to shoot this dog! knowing what i know now, about this dog i would have shot it . i did not know the same dogs attacked a dog just months before..
I am an American Pit Bull Terrier owner, and I think that the owner of the pitbull was not responsible enought to own a pit. Obviously this pitbull wasn't trained to be in society. It's all in how you bring them up!! I think that the dog just be taken away from the owner and sent to a rehabilitation center where It will be properly trained instead of killed.
Dont be mad at the dog for doing its natural instincts. The owner should have been more responsible.
THAT Operator is a fucking dick. Hes got a big sense of superiority because he answers a fucking phone. When someone calls with a problem you DONT GET AN ATTITUDE. The operator should lose his job.
That Dispatcher should try use some empathy the guy is totally heartless ! if i was you i would of shot the pit bull anyway weather the owner was there or not !
first of all i do not hate pit bull dogs! i love dogs. in this case it was a pit bull dog and it has been removed from Boone county by court order. the owner is in the process of paying my vet bills. this dog has attacked three dogs that i know of in my area. that is why i went to court to get the dog removed. if i had known that the pit bull had attacked prior to my dog being attacked i would have shot it! all dog owners must take care of there dogs. it was a pit bull dog.
Well,.. in your audio you sounded unsure and I could unstand why because of the situation you were in. I am so tired of people being so quick to say pitbull if a dog attacks. Pitbulls end up on the news and most of the time other breeds do not. Whats his face is caught dog fighting PB's and he get a slap on the wrist. Why are PB's shot and he gets a slap on the wrist? He should be shot.
The funnny thing is that the pitbull is probably a good dog. He's just being a dog. Its the owner who is bad. Dog to dog aggression is normal. Hell,... my pit loves people and other dogs too. But he does not like other young males. Its all about rank and territory. Theres always a reason for behavior whether its good or bad. I watch my dog good. Because I love my dog. I dont want my dog to get out and attack some young male dog somewhere and get shot.
The owner of the dog shoudl be the one to get shot. Or atleast not be allowed to own a dog period. Look im sorry for what happened. Please dont hate the breed. Hate the bad owners.
thank you, my dog has recovered but still not the same dog. we have a court date set for oct 19th. 2009. he has to have the dog out of the county by then or it will be put down. of course who knows what will happen in court. so this dog may be living next to you soon! i hope you and your dog recover from your attack on bob...and his dog.
This is an excellent video. The dispatcher is horribly out of line. The dispatchers job is to determine what is happening, where it is happening, then send an officer to that location...PERIOD. As an officer myself, had this happened to my dog, I would've told that dispatcher to shove it up his ass and I'll call him back when I get home. Regardless, the victim of this pitbull attack was very level headed.
u dickhead let him fucking shoot it. it just mauled his dog.
