Amazon Parrot!!!!!..He can't eat that!!!!!!!! Gee...why dont you study more about parrots to give it the right food. This kind of food can kill it!!!!. And, thanks for taking away our parrots.... :( :( We are really proud of what you did to him. Parrots need to be in the jungle not in front of the cameras to show pple this crap. Shame on you guys!!!!
@Bpickle1290 Thanks! You should hear Gracie when she yells at Avis and tells him to stop it! It's hilarious. (Avis tries to bite her feet and she screams "stop it!".
@NicholasPiano Thank you, Nicholas. She loves food. Whenever she sees me making something in the kitchen, she asks, "Is that good?" (Corkie says the same thing.) She also gets off her cage and visits the other bird cages looking for peanuts they've dropped.
When Gracie climbs up Avis's cage leg, he protests by lunging at her acting like he's going to bite her feet. "Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Stop it! Ouch! Quit!", Gracie hollars at Avis.
@OnePickieChickie One day, when Gracie and Avis were first getting to know each other, I quickly removed Avis off the top of his cage to prevent them from injuring each other. "Now deal with that!", Gracie hollered!
Your Gracie looks exactly like my Max. He actually came over to the screen and tried to touch her and even rubbed his cheek against the screen. Too bad they can't be friends!
@CaptUante How cute! My Blue Crown Conure Avis attacks himself, when I show him his videos on YouTube. Gracie is hilarious. She likes to crawl up into Avis's cage, which he doesn't like, and lunges at her as though he is going to bite her feet. Gracie will holler, "Stop it! Quit it! Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!", at him! She's quite the character.
can you help me i got a 4 month yna like yours h emakes babble sounds is that cause he is a baby? and what age an i feed him normal food like furites and vigges.
@ishymanz I'm so sorry! I didn't see your comment until just now. Congratulations on your new baby Amazon! They can start eating fruit and vegetables when they are old enough to eat on their own.
Yes, I am. I rescued all of them but had to pay for Frostie to rescue him.
Gracie likes to get in Avis's cage then teases him by telling him to "come here" then laughing at him. They haven't made friends yet but I am pleased they haven't hurt each other. (Avis gets on top of his cage the moment he sees her coming or gets down and runs over to me!)
They say parrots are as smart as a four-year-old child. Everytime I am eating something, Gracie gets down off her cage and comes over to me because she wants some.
I love this! I wonder if Gracie taught herself to hold the spoon, or did you train her? It would be great if I could train my conure to do this trick, but it'd probably be too heavy for him. He could probably support a plastic spoon, but he'd be more likely to chew it apart! He adores peanut butter too, by the way - but only the unsweetened kind, and only a little bit every now and then. Thanks for posting these videos!
Gracie is 24 and did that trick before I owned her. She doesn't get peanut butter ever because she is overweight. I used the peanut butter because it would stay on the spoon. I don't know how she learned to do that. She may have just grabbed a spoon one day. I know she has a cow if I eat and don't offer her something. She gets down off her cage and walks over to me.
Gracie loves to eat. She will eat whatever you put on the spoon. However, the thinner the food is, the more likely it will end up on the floor! That's why I gave her peanut butter. This is something that isn't usually done because she tends to be a bit overweight.
I'm sorry I didn't answer you right away! I don't know how this happened! I have 2 parrots, Avis and Frostie. The others are owned by, or being babysat at, Birds of Paradise. Gracie has been there for almost 4 years as has Corkie. They are both being babysat.
Thats cool, I have an equadorian parrot and it wont eat anything but seeds................................................ur the only user ive ever seen who replys to all of the comments. Thats cool
Having cared for over 350 parrots, I have observed that ALL parrots prefer seed over what is really good for them. The best way to introduce the "good food" is by putting two dishes in it's cage. When the seeds are all gone, they have no choice but to eat "the good food".
Frostie was a pain to wean from seeds. He would root through the pellets searching for seed and then push the pellets out of the dish onto the bottom of the cage! Every time he did that, I took the food away for 20 minutes!
I'm so sorry I didn't reply to answer your question. No, a friend of mine has a professional parrot breeding, babysitting and rescue facility. I have lived there off and on and have helped take care of the birds.
This is a possibility. I do know people need a place to leave their parrots when they go on vacation. A bird can die very quickly if it runs out of food. The problem is parrot cages are very expensive and it would be difficult to come up with enough cages!
Avis loves yougart too! In fact, there's nothing he doesn't like to eat that I can think of except raw onions! It just depends on the parrot and what they've been given when they were young I think!
She's fat enough as it is! Lol! She eats everything in site and if left to sit on top of her cage unsupervised, is down on the floor eating all the spilled seeds and into any cage that's open to get into their food as well! She's about 29 years old and talks a lot! I'll have to catch it on video soon!
Hee, hee, hee, that's cute! (My sister's grey parrot once MADE himself a spoon by chewing a plastic toy; he then went to his food dish, put food in the "spoon" with his beak, went to a perch, and ate the food!)
I got bit once on the face,at an Narcotics Enforcrment Officers Association Event by another cops bird. he had an amazon and a macaw, he knew nothing about birds, but it wasn't the birds fault....The owner was responsible. I still have a slight fear of Amazons, but they are cute....
She is overweight and I had a hard time getting spoon away from her after the video! She was lucky to get the bit she ate during it! I usually give her apple sauce but because I was shooting a video, I wanted the food to stay on the spoon and be there long enough for me to get some good footage!
She talks a lot too, mostly in the evening before bed time. She's funny! One time, Corkie got in her cage and I heard, "Corkie! Quit it!" I turned around and she had her foot up to his chest and hollared, "No!" Lol! You can see Corkie in my Corkie Singing With Karla video.

@MasterPenguin777 This video just made the Los Angeles Times Unleashed - Your Morning Adorable !!
When a parrot is stimulated, their eyes dilate, yes. You can often tell when a parrot is about to talk because of that.
