As a scout, I do support the ban on gay scout masters. Mostly because if you support gays, you suppport sodomey which is a sin, and since scouts are reverent, sin can't be allowed.

The Boy Scouts of America does not allow OPENLY GAY members because in my opinion Gays have this incessant need to tell everyone that they are gay. Why? Whose business is it? Heterosexuals don't do it. There is no place for sex in scouting. When the BSA challenged New Jersey law in the Supreme Court, a Gay organization submitted a friend of the court brief favoring the Boy Scouts policy. Why? Because if the Boy Scouts lost they would also have to accept NON-GAY MEMBERS if any applied.

Why would someone WANT to be in an organization that considers their lifestyle immoral? There are other Scout organizations besides BSA. Those people that don't meet BSA requirements (female, over 18, refusing to pledge allegiance, homosexual, or anything else incompatible with BSA joining requirements) should find an organization that better fits them. Im an Eagle Scout and as far as females and over 18 there is Venture Scouting. Thats pretty much co-ed 18+. And while I agree that some other organizations are better suited for other people I will continue to support Scouting.

I am a boy scout, and proud. While I personally am against the exclusion policy, I think that the individual districts should decide who can and cannot be members. Furthermore, allowing gays would only be symbolic for most troops. If people have found out if they are gay by the time they join, they certainly haven't found out about that rule. If the rules were changed, how many more gays would join boy scouts?

There was minimal dissent, out of thousands of psychologists, only few dissented, and this was at a time when homosexuality wasn't as accepted as it is today. Even those dissenters are suspect, given that the individual psychologists are often working with their own prejudices, and are seldom supported by anybody except those with their own prejudices.

EXCOMMUNICATION THOUGHT: The Boy Scouts organization encourages its members to actively participate in the religion of their choice. I say RELIGION kills! Is this organization rejecting Jesus as Lord and Savior? Christian Churches seem to be sending the wrong message when they lock out homosexuals from attending worship, but allow boy scouts in their services (and to use church facilities).

Yupp, religion caused and causes a lot of grief in humanity. But it also does help.

I would say it helps a boy more to believe in god, or if not, at least live by a certain standard and moral, than to be amongst gays. I write that not because i think gays are evil or something, i am convinced that a person chooses it's sexual preference. I guess the fear is, that developing boys who are at that age till trying to figure out their new found sexuality, would get the idea that there is an option and would want to try out same sex experiences. Anyhow, i support BSA to the fullest as i do not want a gay boy make advances or suggestions of "playing" with each other in their tent. It would probably not lead to the straight kid turning gay, but i still would not approve of it.
