Personally, I will often get music online, before the release date, or whatever, and also buy the CD. Because I support the artists, but I also find that the music I can get online is better quality than the stuff I rip from my CD onto the computer. Is it some form of self justification? Well if Hollywood and the record labels in the music industry were not all controlled by a few groups of people that are destroying it, I would buy the stuff. But I can't in good conscience give the evil bastards that are destroying art and film more of my money. Now when a band releases their music independently ,e.g. Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails, I purchase the stuff. And how many movies have you seen in the last 5 years that you would have paid for if you knew how bad it sucked before hand.

By selling used games, retailers like Gamestop can continue to remain in business so that means more retail outlets available for consumers to buy new games.

I've payed a lot of money to see concerts, to pay for my cable that accesses the music channels, I have a whole lot of merchandise, and I sometimes buy albums.

also labels are payed by ad sponsors and certain ad sponsors pay the labels which keeps them with money also more than 60 percent of the profit from concerts and shows goes straight into the band and or artists pocket giving them millions in less than a few weeks so i doubt they will go hungry unlike us poor civilians that make less than 10,000 a year, and to many artists they understand that they are not losing much from said sites like thepiratebay. cuz anybody can sing or act with training.

for all you stating that we are taking money from bands and artists you are very wrong artists and bands are given money by their labels and if they are unsigned usually they give out the cds for free anyway or off of some different site that pays them to do so. i will now and forever be a sailor on this ship and if anything is to happen to the staff i will be completely ok with them asking me to carry on the site for somebody bought the file to upload it therefore they are sharing it with us.

Personally, I will often get music online, before the release date, or whatever, and also buy the CD. Because I support the artists, but I also find that the music I can get online is better quality than the stuff I rip from my CD onto the computer. Is it some form of self justification? No. I want to support the artists I listen to.

If it were free, how would Microsoft afford to continue to develop it? They wouldn't be able to pay employees and thus will be unable to release any more updates or versions.
