If there is a good DJ out there who still uses vinyl today, my respect goes out to him/her. Just about everything took skill back in the day, especially analog audio editing. I am not old, and I have never spliced even one tape, but I plan on making R2R mixes. That is some difficult stuff right there.

Erick Morillo is a great example of this. Vinyl in its scope of possibilities dosent even compare to the cdj1000 just based on the live time stretch and looping alone. the 2000s are even better

He was reffering to the syncing functions found in many dj interface programs. In the case of CDJs, they dont save you time, they actually make more potential work for the dj as all of the classic DJ skills are still required. Beatmatching is unfortunately the main argument people make for being a dj. Its just a skill, and a very out dated one at that

That 'quantizing' thing has been a standard feature in my Traktor Pro. Im not hating, it just seems that Pioneer has copied all of Traktor's features.

You should try Traktor or Serato. You could do more than those CDJ are capable of doing.
CDJs will never match what software can do.
I could out mix Roger with my Traktor Software.

sigh, i own a djm 800 and that is clearly a djm 700
the blue color effect lights are missing, the master channel is a gray strip, the frequency knobs are gray, it has the single filter button, and theres no giant green tap button
its a 700, trust me

the cdj's 2000 do look good and sound superb.
of course combined with all the pioneer set up,it's difficult to go wrong.
But i do think it is far too expensive.
don't forget,were are in a recession.

That 'quantizing' thing has been a standard feature in my Traktor Pro. Im not hating, it just seems that Pioneer has copied all of Traktor's features.

Thats sad. Its all about merchandising. Pioneer has money to put on advertisement and thats it. The other brands like Numark, Denon etc has similar equipments but doesnt have the same budget for publicity....
