The problem of the last B, is NOT VIBRATO... vibrato is a fundamental part of the sound of the human voice. At this point of her career, Callas was experiencing problems with her voice, and she was not completely dedicated to singing, as she was from, let's say, 1947-1959. The las B wobbles, the column of air which should support it is not working, probably due to the somehow abusive choice of repertory Callas made in the previous years. Still, SHE IS THE GREATEST OPERA MUSICIAN. THE BEST.

Callas is arguably the greatest opera singer ever, a woman of great beauty, class, operatic intensity, intelligence, dramatic instinct, a true tragic heroine who merits the adulation that her meteoric career engendered ... A legend .... She's not making these runs though and the vibrato on the last high note is just crazy ... Still love her though :)

Thank god for youtube, where ABSOLUTE NOBODIES can express their ignorance, their lucking of intelligence, musical culture and taste in their comments about M.Callas. The fact that EVERY BIG MUSICIAN, SINGER OR ARTIST IN GENERAL coincide in describing her as a phenomena, a genius and as one of the most, if not THE most influential singer of the XX century, MEANS NOTHING TO THIS PEOPLE.... the important thing for them is to express their ignorance....

@colonia3059 Right! My own introduction to opera was from a greatest hits collection I got from a sidewalk sale– picked it up on a whim to see what EVERYONE was carrying on about this Callas woman. It changed my life– for the better, this woman did. One may not know didley squat about opera, but one is lying if s/he knows not the name of Callas and the miracle that she was!

@zehnthaus excellent assessment of Callas' voice. I quite agree. Her mezzo range is just otherworldly beautiful and her secret weapon against other sopranos whose lower and middle range were too weak.

@zehnthaus I've heard about her natural mezzo- range... But really, I see her as all-encompassing really, soprano sfogato. But I don't know. She would have done this much better in her earlier years, 1958 & earlier– that last part surely wobbled awkwardly. But, you're right: musicality, drama, fluid AGILITY: unchallengeable...

You can see it in her eyes and her body language speaks volumes. This woman never had an orgasmus!!!

She was alone and nobody loved her! The audiences and fans turns away and Onassis finish Callas off.

The logically and direct consequence of her human inadequacy and horrible singing is alcohol, dance on tables in jet-set bars of Venice, drugs and pill addiction.

mi piace MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLTO di più come la fa Maria che la Bartoli, molto più elegante e aggraziato, scusatemi se sono un po cruento, ma la bartoli mi da l'impressione di starnazzara stile gallina, mette un elettrizzante allegria che fa sempre bene, certo, ma anche qui, Maria ci insegna che, come appunto lei diceva, la passione, o in generale tutti gli stati d'animo e le sensazioni messe in un'aria così " come viene", in modo irragionato, è un grave errore dell'interprete.

Maria ha sempre trasformato le arie come le riuscivano. La Bartoli è l'esempio del BelCanto e della perfetta esecuzione! Mi piace la Callas nelle parti da mezzo, ma la preferisco in Carmen. Comunque, aggiungo che qui è molto in difficoltà, anche perché negli acuti la voce sparisce oppure è insicura... Molto meglio la Bartoli, davvero.

a me non piace proprio ,gli acuti hanno un vibrato troppo aperto, i gravi sono nasali,maria non era piu quella di un tempo,poi questo concerto e stato catastrofico sia dal lato tecnico che dal lato che cambiava le parole dell aria cui stava cantando,l acuto finale e quasi steccatto, comunque dopo qello che aveva fatto si poteva comprendere,preferisco la bartoli in questo ruolo
