  • Who are the troops in the leather aprons with axes and beards? What is the signifience of the axes and the leather aprons?

  • @egusmc1 they are legion sappuer's the deal with engineering and explosives

  • @egusmc1 They are the Sappers, which are the combat engineers that traditionally "cleared the way" for the rest of the Legion. The dangers of the job gave them privileges, such as beards. The aprons, leather gloves, and axes, were all tools of this traditional task.

  • I had the great honour to train with 2 Etrangere Parachutiste(2REP)in the '60's. Camp Rafali, Corsica. They were the bravest of the brave. We celebrated Camerone Day with them. What a blast.

  • la légion toujours Alberto Vergani

  • Does the Foreign Legion tend to cause traffic jams when it's on parade?

    So SLOOOOOOW...

  • Vive la France

  • Anybody know why some Legionnaires are wearing a black kepi while the rest wear white?

  • @hokisazchka The officers =)

  • @hokisazchka Black Kepi is an Officer. all others White. Just a guess on my part

  • @hokisazchka Warrant officers and officers wear the black kepi, legionnaires and noncoms wear white.

  • welcome to the legio

all the marches are 88 steps there because we are different than the others

    LEGIO PATRIA NOSTRA

    viva la legionere

  • @Djgabibo Its the haughty pace of Kings. Great march, almost as good as Semper Fidelus.

  • the legion is my life.i love legion

  • o.k.100%

  • Great recovery on the tempo question. Never put the Legion next to the Gurkhas in a parade. One goes slow, the other fast. I personally wouldn't argue with either of them!

  • Suggest the following the following search in youtube:

Légion Etrangère - FFL (old footage)

    Credit and thanks to "since1831"

  • I made it around 86 beats a minute. Sounds about right to me.

Je considère qu'il est de 86 battements par minute. Sons corrects.

  • Yes, wrong tempo!

  • I forgot another wonderful march, the "Finska Rytteriets-Marsch" aka "Swedish Cavalry March".

I should command a regiment, this would become its march!

  • Sorry, but I forgot the British "Grenadier Guard March". Also a very good march indeed.

  • A really beautiful march!

Only our "Garry Owen" and "She Wore a Yellow Ribbon" can compare.

  • @wannabgeordie28

according to my metronome it's about 88 beats per minute. 2nd REP 80-85

  • march is 120 beats per minute right foot with the second clock-hand

  • M.M.154158

C'est pas la Musique de la Legion. Cest une bande municipale ou pareil. Je suis d'accord avec le camarade Wannabgeordie28.

    More Majorum

    Honneur et Fidelié

    Nos anciens marchent avec nous.

  • @capitan601 eyyy whast song military french is this::::::. /watch?v=vipZb4Unw7I minut 1:40

    HELP FRENCH PEOPLE

  • If I studied French military command, history, and tactics, along with general world military for most of my childhood and was a novice expert (knowing more than a citizen, but not quite as much as a mid-ranking officer), how fast do you think I could push through the ranks of the FFL to make officer? I'm not saying I've studied that much or am that smart, I'm just curious.

  • @Nitocolus 14 years, I think.

  • @Ryusuken55 Ouch, that's awhile. Oh well, it's not 20 years :P

  • RESPECT

    A LA PLUS GRANDE FIERTE

    FRANCAISE

  • In my country I was Generalissimo

  • One Arab band? Send 2 Legionnaires!---attributed to Marshal Foch

  • This is NOT right. Le boudien is marched at 88 beats per minute. This is more like the usual marches of other units at around 120 beats.

  • @huubi72

Tell the Legion! They are playing!

  • @jonjamg en 1972 c'etait 66 pas minute !!!!!!

  • @huubi72 They have to accelerate on the July 14th défilé for logistics reason sometimes!

  • @huubi72 humm... no this is correct. this is at 88 per minute.

  • @huubi72 This recording is being played at 84 beats per minute, a wee bit slower than the 88 march time.

  • en 25 dias me presentoo.. espero cumplir mi sueño...

  • I had the honour of serving along side of La Legionnaires in the early 1970's in the Golan Heights as a UN Peace Keeper. Tough, professional, and honourable men!

  • Bonjour ami's

Legio patria nostra and fuck the freaks and the face legionnair's

  • 20 years? Did you get any promotions or did you stay at Senior Corporal( Caporal Chef)

  • @EAFSQ9 ta gueule saloppe. Even if he did stay CCH it's none of your business, some CCH are branleurs, some are really great guys who know their shit, but you are a nobody so stfu.

  • @wannabgeordie28

Wait, so you were a Legionnaire.

  • Me a legionanaire? Mais non!

  • I have added another version played by the legion, is this more like it?

  • It is a recording off a record by Principale De La Légion Étrangère, so the assumption is that they were playing. It was an old record. So don't know actually what to think. maybe you are right and it was a compilation of various bands but no others were mentioned.

  • a nou la legion

  • the legion is our homeland!!

  • un sons de bonne qualité

  • ¡Legio Patria Nostra!
