Hi,

It is not illegal under UK law but you can be fined under railway bye laws.

With the exception of our 30 year old intercity 125s and private stock most modern trains in the uk have no windows to open.

With classic traction railtours its every mam for himself to the windows.

Wondered why we kept stopping, she got further delayed upto 45 mins at one point when we got stopped for a HST. She pulled it back though 20 mins late at Birmingham New St. What a machine.
