I will miss the man always, but what he stood for and its continuation through his efforts, will live forever. Let our continued freedom remind us of everyone who worked so hard so that we could keep it, including Mr. Blumert.
He would never let us lose perspective or get depressed by the world's caprices. Let's keep that in mind over the next few years.
Uncle Burt...my childhood memories as a strong and admirable spirit mixed with our brief "Hello's" bring me today to learn now of the Author, Libertarian and one who lives a monumental contribution to Society. YEAH!!! Danielle Williams
A nice tribute. Though we have lost a giant in the fight for liberty, liberty did not die with him. Burton's work will continue to inspire us for a very, very long time. RIP.
*For my Uncle, Burton S. Blumert...Thank you, so very much Sir, for everything you ever did for us.You were bigger than life...and you will live on in our hearts and minds forever. You will be greatly missed and always respected and admired...R.I.P.
I only learned of his importance and contributions the day before he died.
I'm glad Mr. Blumbert was with us long enough to see the Austrian economic tradition and the liberty movement become large and popular again. I'm sure he understood that it will only grow larger, and I'm sure he was aware to a degree, the effect he had.
His work will be remembered and many more will follow in his footsteps. Mr. Blumbert will always be greatly appreciated.
In the last months, we had several pleasant conversations on the telephone. I knew that he had little time, and he knew that I knew. Yet he remained sanguine. He was the kind of man who embraces the truth, whatever it may be. He invariably ended our conversations with "call anytime."
Liberty has lost a steadfast friend. But his writings and his memory will live on.
I was fortunate to know Mr. Blumert late in his life. We met at a fund-raiser for Ron Paul that Mr. Blumert sponsored. I always addressed him by his last name, and he reciprocated. I enjoyed that. He was a gentleman of the old school.
If you believe one man cannot make a difference, then you were never acquainted with Burt Blumert. Each of us has something to contribute to the eternal struggle for liberty and we should not shirk that responsibility. All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.
From the moment I met you Burt, I knew you were the real deal and a true patriot.
You were my mentor and helped me solidify my convictions on liberty, sound money and the free market. You put the face on the Mises Institute for me and introduced me to other patriots such as Lew and Ron Paul for which I will forever be grateful.
I don't know who put this video together at Mises, but you did a wonderful job and thanks for putting Gary and I in it. It is truly a honor to be included. Rest In Peace Burt.
I wish that I could have met Burt. I've just spent the past hour and a half reading his friends' memories of him on Lew Rockwell's web site. What a great man. So sad that he's gone.

How lucky we are to have Burt as an inspiration.
He'll be sadly missed but his legacy travels with us and with those who live beyond us.
Burt's will be among the strong shoulders upon which they stand.
