I'm mixed on this movie. I loved the original short with it's minimalist approach to story telling and seeing this will be interesting.......but:

Since its Tim Burton producing, the movie will get hyped out to the max, screaming fan girls everywhere, merchandising, shallow HotTopic culture. This thing will get whore-ed out like Nightmare Before Christmas.

Adding action, voice actors, even the music, its just going to taint the original short for what it was.

Well then take it for what it is: an extension of the short. The short was the original, and very well made. However this is something entirely different. Take it as a movie, an adaptation, and appreciate the short and movie seperately. As for the hype, yes it most likely will get an insane amount of hype, but it's what it deserves if it's as good as the original 10 minute short. So hype can be annoying. If Acker didn't want hype he wouldn't have created a mainstream version. Or he needs money.
