I saw one of these Mugen Civics at a local dealer and could not believe the asking price. It was just under 30k and I couldn't help but think of all the bad ass looking and performing cars you could get for that money that would just rape the shit out of this car all day.

It looks nice but I think SI fanatics are better off buying a regular Si and going aftermarket elsewhere.

Performance wise the price is a rip off. But ascetically it's not bad. Those rims are almost 800$ a piece. Then throw in the body kit, suspension, breaks, 200$ mugen shift knob, mugen exhaust, etc.

You don't get a fast car for the price, which is why is never buy it. But you do get a pretty good looking car and only 1000 are made

And as for racing you do know that Honda has a huge reputation for all kinds of racing from superbikes to formula1. Not the same can be said about subaru, their racing reputation kinda involves rallying the impreza very successfully but that´s about it, not that I have anything against them.

I heard this model Mugen is close to 30 grand. Forget the ground FX. IMO get sportline or Pro kit Eibach springs and a perf muffler. those two items are roughly $300, oh and bigger wheel tire package say another grand, there, you now pretty much have your mugen like perf package for thousands less. The Type-R's are already quick enough NA to slap around a WRX...but the Si is about being sporty and having fun in an ECO car. People still want to get reasonable gas mileage and in that respect for the MPG Honda is as quick as you'll get.

@brentonfoxx Yea...but Mugen has always been very close to Honda like Cosworth used to be with Ford. I partially agree, but I don't think it would be right for Honda to put a turbocharger in their cars because its a tradition with them to have na engines. Anyway they are moving away from performance. The Civic Type-R will be discontinued and most likely the Si will too. They care about fuel economy now, not performance. They released a series of papers on peak oil.
