The catch is although Japan is motherland of Toyota and Sony but in reality in March 11 level of emergency situation they are totally empty handed. They imported robots from america and water pumping regular construction machines from china. So these tech shows are really empty stuff in that respect. Japan Get Real!

Awesome! I've driven Honda for over 12 years now and I've never checked the oil! Japanese quality is over the top. I'm extremely excited that they are coming out with BEV. My next car will be an EV. My car payment will be my monthly bill of the liquid poison I fill in the tank of my ICE powered Honda Civic. Driving an EV will be ~$500 per month savings in my pocket. My electricity comes from hydro electric so its clean, green, and renewable!

You are thinking about movies, these don't correspond to our current reality.

@simplistic0 Sorry, man, but YOUR assumption was FAIL because I'm not talking about the guy, but about the presentation. This is a Japanese event, aimed to the Japanese market, which formed by Japanese people, and yet there is a guy presenting everything... in English. Nissan is Japanese company, there are lot of Japanese executives there. They could have choose one of those executives to do the presentation. That's what all companies do: US conference = English, Japanese conference = Japanese.

I think their making it so futuristic it becomes impractical. In the time that door opened and closed on that green car, I could have gotten in my current clunker, started it and had it in drive.. That's what they need to be focusing on is practicality.
