Worst guitar ever! I bought one of these for my friend for x-mas in 2006 and the controls started crapping out before I had a chance to give it to him. I had it for 2 weeks. Very cheap! The neck felt like it was so fragile and bends super easy. JUST MY OWN OPINION
@InterspeciesErotica7 Sounds like you got a lemon. I probably wouldn't have bought mine either but a good friend of mine practically gave it to me and I've had it for about 3 years now. It plays fine, the neck is solid, and I have not had any issues with the electronics.
This is a great little axe for the money. I think the reason it doesn't so much metalmetalmetal is that it doesn't have the EMG pickups...these are just generic humbuckers but they have a decent tone.
Not a bad little axe, huh? I was amazed with mine. For the price it beats a lot of other guitars out there. I have been taking this one with me when I leave home for work (14 days at a time) and it's been a really good axe for playing in my hotel rooms, etc. It isn't the best guitar, but it certainly isn't the worst either.
This guitar is amazing. This is an LTD made by ESP (James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett play ESP guitars). List price for this model is $349 through Musician's Friend, but they have it on sale today for $239. I purchased mine from a friend who had owned it for 6 months...I paid $150...HAHA. It is a great guitar for the money. It is one notch up from bottom of the line...it has a bolt-on neck, and it's made in Indonesia. But it plays and sounds great through my Boss DR-880. Thank. LC
My job requires that I am away from home for 2 weeks per month...I take this guitar with me, along with my DR-880, GT-8, and a Peavey Renegade practice amp. If something happens to it, it's go great financial loss...but it is a very durable guitar, stays in tune, and is set up just right.
For the money I paid for this one, it KICKS BUTT! Yea, it's bottom-of-the-line LTD, but I paid less than half the retail price for mine because a good friend sold it to me after he'd owned it for about 6 months. It's my travel guitar :D And yes, it's quite comfortable, and doesn't play/sound bad at all.
Well, I cannot make that comparison since I have never touched an Ibanez ART100...but I will have to say that this is not only a great first guitar, it's a very good low-cost guitar for your 19th guitar as well...I know, it's MY 19th...LOL. I take this one when I travel for work so I can jam out in the evenings while I'm away from home, and if it gets stolen or busted up, it's no big financial loss. It's NOT a Les Paul, but it plays and sounds pretty nice. I highly recommend one for a first.
Yep I'm just jamming along with a pre-programmed drum and bass pattern in my DR-880. Thank you for the compliment. The guitar is one I refer to as my "back-pack guitar" because I take it with me almost everywhere. I got it for a disgustingly low price so if anything happens to it I haven't lost much...but it plays awesome!
I have 19 1/2 guitars (the 1/2 is an SG body fully loaded which needs a neck). I put strings on 20 necks, however, because one of my guitars is a double-neck. I presently have: 5 Hamers 4 Johnsons 3 Gibsons 2 Teles (Larry Tele, & American Flag) 1 Galvestson (double-neck) 1 LTD 1 Titan Strat 1 Ventura 1 Yamaha What kind should YOU get? I am biased in my own preferences so it would be wrong to say GET THIS or GET THAT. I suggest you try Hamer if you like humbuckers. :D
Hey, sounds good to me man! This little ditty was just me fooling around with my DR-880, nothing pre-meditated...HAHA. That is just a stock drumbeat pattern, but fun as heck.
John Madden? Now THERE's a new one. Most people say I look like David Crosby...on a couple of my other vids people were calling me Hulk Hogan...HAHAHA. At any rate, I'll take your comment and just say..."it's in the game!" :D LC
dude the way you play is awesome, thats some FUCKING MUSIC! You seem reall passionate and soulful and passionate about what your playing and that's all that matters man thanks alot for the info-Ali
awesome shit man! Im a lefty and im getting that guitar, although it has a seymour duncan jeff beck pick-up in the neck and a seymour duncan jazz pick up in the bridge i love jazz and stuff? but at the same time i love heavy metal, u seem wise, tell me would it sound good for heavy metal with those pick-ups?
I wouldn't know for sure because I am not an expert with pickups. I would think the JB's would be fine because Hamer puts them in a lot of their guitars with a Duncan 59 in the opposite position. The Duncans WILL sound better than the generics which normally come in an LTD guitar...although these have a nice edge to them huh? LC
you know what else is incredible about the DR.880? I have used it to programme whole songs, including drum beats for Satch Boogie, Surfing with the Alien as well as DragonForce's: Through the fire and flames, although it takes hours its well worth programming lol
The DR-880 is an incredible machine. It comes loaded with 500 pre-set patterns with room for 500 USER programmed patterns...440 world-class drum and percussion sounds...it's also a GT-6 guitar and bass processor...and there is much more to tell that won't fit into this small space. It was the best $450 I've spent on equipment lately. It has pre-programmed bass guitar patterns that play with most of your patterns as well...it kicks ass! LC
It's no problem...that's an LTD EC-100QM made by ESP. It's about the least expensive model they make but it plays pretty good...I'd put it up against the Les Paul Studio models you see on the market these days, and it costs a lot less. LC
For lack of anything else a guitar amp works great. I plug mine right into my work station (mixing board/recorder) and sometimes I plug it into my amp...depends of where I am and what I'm trying to accomplish. LC
Everything you hear is from the DR-880. It's a drum box, guitar effects signal processor, and a bass guitar processor. The guitar is an LTD EC-100QM by ESP. A friend sold it to me dirt cheap and it plays as well as a Les Paul.
LOL...I figured any more than 6 or 7 times through the progression would become boring as hell...especially on an instrumental jam like this. And I'm sure there are already some people to are bored with this one after the 1st round. :>
ha those LTD's have a good crunchy tone on the palm muting. a friend of mine has a James Hetfield Truckster, it's great. I love your playing thats really good. That DR880 is nice, how much did that unit set ya back???
I believe they list for about $599, but my wife got me this one on ebay (NEW) for right at $400. Yea I'm really impressed with the LTD...that was another steal!! Got it from a buddy for $150...I couldn't pass it up. LC
Everything you hear is coming right out of the DR880! It has an onboard Boss GT-6 Guitar & Bass signal processor and I'm plugged right in there, baby! This machine kicks big booty!
I stated in the description that this is a jam...nobody wrote this, I just turned on Dr. Rhythm and let it fly, baby! LOL! So I suppose you could say that I wrote it on the fly sort of...

About the guitar, in your opinion, is that a good starter guitar, over the Ibanez ART100 of the same body style.
