I saw Slade in 1980 - it was on a Saturday afternoon outdoors, so daytime - no lights, no lasers, no special effect, nothing but four blokes on a stage. They were absolutely stunninging, they blew everyone else away - they were an absolutely fantastic band.
(Shame they were never put on as support to Quiet Riot - now THAT would have been funny!!!!!!!! :)
Slade were very under estimated, brilliant song writers.
They were a heavy rock n roll band really,i saw them at CASTLE DONNINGTON open air festival in the early eighties, apart from AC/DC they blew everybody else away
@hornstra1 Quite alright to be a Sweet fan Horn: they knew how to rock. Always thought they were the only band to come close to Slade in the 70s, memorable songs and they had a sense of humour too. Ring any bells? You can hold your head high!
Still love Slade

don't laugh at me: I used to be a Sweet fan in those days. No kidding. Nowadays, I feel sorry for my behaviour. Don't punish me too hard.

Lovely time the 70's: ridiculous clothes, women that actually said "yes" and all the bands were a bit heavy.
