  • wow...never thought i would see the daylight, so dirty and with out her skirts...i dont care for it..lol..

  • i never seen her soo dirty before...it looks odd to me...but for movie work i guess its cool but i like seeing her clean and shiny..matter fact i prefer it..but i still like her no matter what..cool video!!

  • on trainz 2010 i used a 4449 used this whistle and removed her skirting

  • A skirtless 4449. Never thought I'd see this. Love it. Wish they would leave them off for a while.

  • i love the whistle and the engine

  • @ConnecticutProd OH SHUT UP!!!! Its an awsome whistle and it like YOUR MOM ON THE TOILET!!!!!!!!! XD

  • @ConnecticutProd That's an SP 6 chime from what I can tell. A great whistle.

  • what year did your dad shot this?

  • @ConnecticutProd Oh, c'mon! It's not THAT bad! It's actually a beautiful whistle, it's just not that fitting for the locomotive it's on.

  • @ConnecticutProd i happen to like the whistle. . .

  • @ConnecticutProd I know, it sounds like your mom!

  • @tomAfisher What whistle was the 4449 using at 7:21 - 7:35 anyways?

  • @PNWRails - That would be the old SP 6-Chime that she had on the Fireman's side from 1981-1990. The regular whistle (NP 3-Chime) is heard from 8:04-8:25. The SP 6-Chime is again heard from 8:26-8:54.

  • she almost looks like how she looked back in the late 50's

  • Nice shots! Awesome whistle too! Gotta love the Daylight!

  • Like father, like son, eh! Nice retrospective.

  • Very nice loco and video. Thumbs up! :)

  • Amazing video!!!

  • love the whistle she has

  • my guess just prior to the bi centennial run-1974

  • @rht715 Nope. After.

  • @rht715 - nope, 1989 (about 15 years after the Freedom Train) - the paint you see on her is water-soluble, which means it could be easily washed off when need be.

  • ghost train O_o haha

  • what year was this take in?

  • @thehellmantrain - This was shot in 1989 - after 4449's trip to California for LAUPT's 50th Anniversary. "Come See The Paradise" was released in 1990, if I'm not mistaken.

  • looks like a real steam locomotive

  • Great video, I love the sound of the steam whistle, it sends chills up my spine.

  • i saw the film just to see 4449 . and it was there for like 3 mins and then they dont show it again

  • @heidihobear Yeah, you can never have too much steam in a movie. Mt Rainier Scenic RR's coaches were also there. They came down to Portland with 2-8-2 #5, which made the trip on its own power.

  • She looks great Naked and Dirty 5 Star

  • @conncork Is that all you care about?

  • 7:25 - That's the best that old SP 6-Chime on the fireman's side EVER sounded!

Very rare footage - thanks for uploading! :D

  • Still looks Good!

  • The 4449 is still the most beautiful engine ever! Even with all the grime!

  • Great video, man. It's seriously different to see Union Station that empty and open. AND THAT WHISTLE!

  • @4449steam It was a great railfanning spot till MAX came in and ruined it. But on the plus side, we now have that pedestrian bridge over the tracks, so all is not lost. :)

  • @F40PHR231 That's true. But still.....

  • @4449steam Wonder if any of those F40s was the #231...

  • @F40PHR231 I thought the exact same thing!
