  • yah right 18 months bs

  • @rdf7777 Its True.......Mike The Headless Chicken Lived For 18 Months After Having Most Of It's Head Cut Off Leaving The Jugular Vein And Most Of The Brain Stem .

  • at least zombies are not headless..

  • they forgot the fried potatoes every one know a roasted chicken goes well with FRIED POTATOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • it's really awful to mention that headless chicken right after something you imagine to eat!!!!

  • ummm, headless chicken story just DIDN'T fit in this.........

  • first, cooking show then a headless chicken fact. WIERD

  • That is one clean pan!

  • i thought it said "trust the chicken"

  • that isn't a perfect chicken! It's left leg is longer than the right one.

  • how do i roast an imperfect chicken?

  • To those wondering, please Google "Mike the Headless Chicken."

Mike's head was cut off incorrectly, leaving most of his brain stem in tact. Since a chicken's vital functions (breathing, eating, preening, etc.) are controlled by the stem, he survived with minimal loss of function.

So it's true, 18-months with no head!

  • what a way to make me lose my appetite...

  • My X didn't have a head , at least not one with a brain. And she still made noise even managed to drive in that condition. Sorry, Mike the chicken ain't got nothing on my x

  • i wonder how the chicken got its head chopped off....

  • This is a bullshit. It's impossible a chicken survive 18 months headless. Headless means NO food and water intake chances, but most of all NO respiratory nervous centers. The chicken'd die in a couple of minutes - unless put under artificial respiratory routine and fed. But this way people survive. too; and even more than 18 monthes.

  • @taviwolf Uhhh fucking moron it can live off the sun.

  • mike the headless chicken!!

  • Yeah, thanks for that off putting fact at the end there.

  • jesus chicken

  • I just lost my appetite at the end of the video!!! headless over 18 months ???!!!!!

  • nooo nothing wrong is in T V a monthe ago

  • his name was mike. mike the headless chicken

  • Than you, this video was very helpful!

    not being sarcastic

  • "Season with authority, as I always say."

    LOL ahahhaahahahahahahahah

  • haha, i like how this video shows you how to make a great roast chicken, and then randomly tells you a headless chicken survived for a long time. almost like saying "hey, the chicken you're eating may still be alive"

  • wouldn't a headless chicken die of dehydration without its head?

  • good point.

  • remember a headless chicken is for 18 months not just for christmas

  • LOL.

  • the other chickens in the pen called him brainless

  • headless chicken is ment to be tasty

  • why does the viewer need to know that about the chicken that survived headless for 18 months at the end of the clip? Very strange indeed.

  • A chicken can not survive for more than a few MINUTES without its head!

This is either absolute BULLSHIT!..... or it was a controlled experiment, where they sealed the bleeding and fed the chicken.

    Even then it sounds unlikely!

  • @marek0086 when i was on my uncles farm, they chopped a chicken's head off and it ran around for like 15 min until my uncle shot it..

  • Or you could brine that chicken.

Or you could do a compound butter with tyme.

  • You people complaining about the mention of a headless chicken seriously need to grow up.

If the words alone made you lose your appetite, you're a bunch of useless lightweights.

  • do you want to shut your fucking mouth cunt you probobly have kfc 4 dinner everyday

  • TMI at the end there dude. Way to ruin an appetite! The only other complaint I have with your vids is that your hand or some other obstacle often obstructs the view of what you're supposed to be showing. For instance, in this vid, you hand totally obstructs where you poke the knife in to test for clear juice. I can judge the general area, but dealing with a 3lb chicken, a 4 inch radius is huge.

I hope you fix things like this because I think you are a great chef and would love to learn from you

  • 18 months. Headless. Did we really need to know that directly after a recipe? I think that I just lost my appetite for roast chicken this evening. I think I will order a pizza.

  • Headless chicken has also been seen in Courage the cowardly dog show

  • Everyones more interested in the Headless chicken than the roast! ;-)

  • Wow it must be a chicken zombie xD

  • headless over 18 months? now that is scary? that's over a year without food and water? hey somethings wrong here?

  • No, the farmer who had cut the head off the chicken fed it a gruel of corn mixed with water. The farmer put the watery gruel down the throat of the chicken. An interesting fact about the headless chicken, it's name was Mike

  • Yeah your an idiot did the farmer assist its breathing and heart beat too there bud? It just a myth no mammal can function without a brain.

  • a chicken is not a mammal.....

  • @hunterways the chicken is undead!

  • @hunterways I heard it wa fed with a tube. Btw the only reason it died was because it choked on a piece of corn. It was on Ripley's Believe it or Not

  • @hunterways His name was Mike and he was feed through a funnel and syringe

  • @hunterways I'm pretty sure she meant 18 minutes, that's closer to the story I had heard

  • @kissed61 It is 18 months. Google Mike the Headless Chicken.

  • @kissed61 She had to have meant 1.8 seconds. Once the head is removed, it's instant death.

  • @hunterways They used drops to feed it... Creepy. DX

  • decent vid, but WTF was the beheading comment at the end for? That fact belongs on a Discovery Channel show - not a recipe for petes sake

  • perfect until the comment at the end .... 18 months! ugh!

  • fat people are disgusting because shemgma grows in their folds and they don't know it and then it starts to stink and they can't figure out "where's that smell coming from?" and when the doctor looks under their back boobs, he finds the rotting shemgma fungus mold and he has to scrub it with a dishwashing brush. obesity rules!

  • Did you know that that's complete and utter bullshit ?

  • where they feeding mushed up food down the headless chicken and watering it too. 18 months. lies

  • It's true. They fed it through it's open throat hole using an eyedropper. It actually got fat.

Google- How long can a headless chicken live?

  • shit.

  • i wonder if my little blue recipe pannel that appears will make that noise when it spins around for me

  • You had me at hello, and waved goodbye with the headless chicken comment.

  • lol chicken

  • it seems that a chicken does not really need a head itself. Cool

  • 8 SPRIGS?!?!

  • 18 months headless..... what was the point of addin that load of bollocks onto a perfectly good recipe??

  • ditto wtf lol

  • Instead of the butter and thyme, I use the fat off the chicken to put under the skin.

  • 18 months...Lies..

  • 18 months...Truth!!!

  • i thought she said "trust the chicken" instead of "truss"

    lol

  • i trust that Chicken! lol

  • omg the thing with the chicken head off is so disgustin i've seen it >.>

  • OMG! I love the fun facts that come out after!

  • thats alot more "you will need" than the other videos O.O

  • OMG ?!?!? at the did you know...

  • Looks easy and delicious.

  • lol i love these chicken howcast films! How to carve, roast, truss a chicken, soon there will be how to eat a chicken! (not me who made that jokE) 5 stars!

  • wow..... i love this

  • So, this is where the trussing chicken video is needed. Mkaies. I still find it weird to have another person besides the voice over talking.
