In Memphis, Back In Memphis, Country, alone stand out.
Im a massive fan but subjective enough to know his career was one of massive under-achievement and missed opportunities.
I remember thinking when this album came out that it was a particle return to form.
I really like this song, which hints at how really great he might of been.

The "colonel" and his entourage never understood the kind of artist Elvis really was. For them he was just a huge money making machine. In fact he still is more so in death, and that is very sad. @Mordawan well it could be...but you know...it takes time to learn how to appreciate something....i wasnt a big elvis fan until i heard him sing this song....he def was the one and only the king.,..but theres room for other great singers too, personally i think bieber is a great kid...and i hope he does well...in the future, bieber fans are young... prob hey if britney spears can have many fan...anyone can... at least bieber doesnt do it by stripping or causing scandals..

Anyways, I have nothing against Bieber personally, I just don't like the way he acts, and his music (I think it is some shit shaken through by some beats). My opinion on what you have said that his fans are young is that I was the age of his fan one too (not long ago either) but I grew up listening to "good" music. Such as Jethro Tull, Michael Jackson, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Eminem or +44 just to name a very small amount

I recon that Bieber will not survive for very long. I give him another 2 years maximum (bless him) and then he will fade away.

@Mordawan First...Eminem is not a singer. In the music department he is totally void of talent. Secondly, I agree with you on tastes being an individual thing...but one's choice of genre will be in question when it is as abasive and confrontational as that of a good many rappers. Lastly, all artists are a product of the moment...stars like Elvis, The Beatles even Cher carry-over into generations forward and appeal to those who are older.

@Mordawan And you made my point...I expect that Elvis will appeal to many more young people than Eminem will ever appeal to older people. The Beatles will influence and appeal to musicians who have not yet been born...but there is nothing that Jay Z, Snoop Dogg or Eminem could ever do (while remaining in their respective comfort zones) to reel in fans who were around prior to Rap going mainstream. Thanks for your reply, I do enjoy the discussion...even if we aren't in agreement.

No clue Elvis covered this. More artists should do versions of good songs instead of always releasing new crap. Writers will admit they don't always put together a classic, but when they do everyone should try to record a version.

I recently read that Elvis sang this song the night before he died,while playing the piano at home. (possibly the day that he died in the wee hours of the morning, knowing Elvis's late hours he kept).
Beautiful song, and I love how Elvis did this.
