  • That guy is stoned

  • Can you do it without taking it apart

  • @BigbabyD22 the toothpick idea might work if you havent already tried it

  • What if the hack phone jack is so loose that whenever I tighten it up even with both headphones working that if I move it, it loses the hearing again :(

  • i don't want to jinx it, but for now this worked for me. Thanks for the tip, hopefuly it doesn't break again but i'm not optimistic

  • Definitely just broke the screen. Its not your fault but just letting you know its not that easy. And all this calling people asshole etc is lame. :Please address the fact that people are breaking their iPod trying to follow this video.

  • I just recently experienced this problem and tested my earbuds with it. So I know it's not my stereo headphones causing the problem, but rather the output. So, does this method work for a 3rd generation iTouch?

Also, it'd be wise for others of you to test out the toothpick method and see if there's lint.

  • @AshleyRoseNeal ive heard that it works for the 3rd gen but there are 2 screws instead of 1. im not 100% sure if it works. look at other videos to take off the screen on the 3rd gen. dont use a screw driver cuz u will probally crack or scratch the screen.

  • @piperpipe201 That's what a few friends said to me. And the thing is, I was just afraid of cracking it. I have no way of replacing this since I bought it from a friend. But thank you very much. :)

  • is this only for the 1st gen or can it be done with 2nd nd 3rd gen??

  • Look assholes, don't be bitching at him, u guys did it wrong, it's not his fault u stupid asses don't know how to do things carefully !

  • What if the earphone jack is broken completely?

  • I tried it and my iPod broke... Thanks dude

  • yoooo just use the toothpick method! i jammed it in and pulled out lint !!! if tht doesnt fix yur problem, juss steal some new headphones pussys :)

  • @BostonTaylorGang ..... it not the headphones?

  • fuck you for posting this you asshole

  • Gorillaz

  • @MsBrap12345 What makes you think it's the headphones?

  • can u do it with a 3rd gen?

  • thanks mate.

  • I just stick paper or aluminum and it works XD

  • yeah im 16 w/ no job & fucked up my ipod containing over 2,500 songs trying to do this listening to this fucker. I have 2 small cracks now & think ink looking shit down my screen. i have no idea how this video has so many likes but i advise people not to do this & take it into best buy & tell them to look at this video as evidence why they should fix it or give you a replacement. Finally fuck this user

  • @headdofstate too bad you're too stupid to do it carefully enough, or to take it to best buy in the first place. If it were that big of a deal to have a material possession than you should have probably taken the responsibility yourself. It isn't someone else's fault you took the advice of taking a screwdriver to an ipod.

  • your a fuckass

  • I only chipped my screen a tiny bit doing this and broke off a seemingly pointless part inside my 3g ipod but I dont care too much and I dont have a small enough screwdriver for the headphone jack so I have to wait to get one and then I will see if this works

  • The toothpick works!!!! I can now successfully lose myself in my music XD

  • THE ONLY THING U WILL SUCCEED IN DOING IS FUCKIN UP YOUR IPOD MORE LISTENING TO THIS JACK OFF

  • your a fuck boy......thanx for the info u piece of shit

  • bitch i shattered the screen. DO NOT DO THIS. IT IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO GET THE IPOD OFF OF THE METAL.

  • @MrDarksk8er u 2 hes ann assraping penis mounter

  • Worked for me, thanks! :)

  • Thanks man... I was having the same problem and this actually fixed it... not 100% but neither headphone was working and then I found your vid... At first I thought it was impossible to take the case apart, but with some work and carefully prying it off, it popped off and then I followed the steps. Not sure if it will last, but thanks for the fix regardless.

  • okay i did this now my screne wont work. it turns on but when i touch it it dosnt work anybody know what might be the poblem? thanks in advance

  • @TUFsStretch i gt the exact problem from this fuckface do you know how to fix it

  • @slowboi066 it might be that you didnt connect the digitilizer back in correctly. but i figured out whats wrong with mine. i damaged some part while prying it open so now im fuked. good luck with yours

  • Gorillaz hahahahahaha props dude thanks!!

  • If something broke on your iPod its not his fault you did wrong you retarts

  • i shattered the shit out of my screen :|

  • @daGrinch93 me too

  • Can anyone help me with any advice? I have a 2nd generation ipod touch.I got it when it first came out, 3 years ago. after 2 years, only one headphone worked and before that, it sounded fuzzy and i had to position the headphones at a certain spot to barely hear it. now it really doesn't work and if you position it, only one headphone works and it's not at the correct volume. it also changes the song when i press the spot above the headphon. a while ago, it fell face-down and cracked the screen.

  • @ADrIanABiiEbEr Tht Shit Is Fucked Upp!! :p

  • Thank You, it worked for my ipod touch 1g.

  • damn it, i tried to take it off and it broke... new ipod on my way!

  • lol all i did was use a toothpick, piece of gray fuzz came out xD now it works like new LOVE MY LIFE

  • @EpicRifle hahahaha thxz you made my iPod work again ;D

  • hmmm

so Let me put it this way for those who read the comments and now dont know if you should attempt this or not.

Go for it. if you dont fuck it up you wont learn. you still have to bring it in for service so you might as well use the chance to learn and stop paying and paying for all these little bullshit that happens to ipods

  • he warned us to be careful and anytime you open tech, you run the risk of breaking it, stop blaming him

  • Thanks man, Just wanted to say thanks for fucking up my my screen!!

  • Oh and thanks for helping me break my ipod even more :[ Now my screen won't even cut on.

  • Everyone take this advice. NEVER and I mean NEVER use these "How to open Ipod touch" tutorials. Unless you want a broken ipod and a sad face then I suggest you don't use any of them.

  • Thank you for showing me this :D. This method works on the ipod touch 3rd gen too. its just that there are 2 screws instead of one on the 3rd gen.

  • fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked up my screen.

  • @killerxnikki

    lmfaooooo

  • broke my ipod thanks!

  • cracked my screen, hell yea!

  • Gently open the itouch and remember not to tear the ribbon cable that connects to the motherboard of the Itouch. For those who don't know, the display screen is not what activates the programs and apps when you touch your IPod. Its just a display screen. It's the thin piece of digitizer film that's right under the bezel cover. That thin film connects via a small ribbon cable on the top left side (3g). Tear the ribbon cable like I did, and you'll have to buy a new digitizer and bezel assembly.

  • FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I SCREWED MY FUCKING IPOD SCREEN... THANK YOU SO MUCH ):

  • This method is risky and you have to repeat this method to mantain its sound.

What i did was stuck a toothpick in the jack and felt around a bit. Scraped around the sides gently. I pulled it out and there was a piece of fuzz about half the size of a pencil eraser. It fixed my problem.

I really believe that this is most of your problem. Alot of you carry your ipod in your pocket. Pocket lint can scurry its way into the earphone jack disrupting the signal.

  • o shit never mind i just did it wrong

  • lieesss this is horibull i tryed it and my ipod exploded and my screen got fucked up and alot more shit happend

  • I just want to say thanks man!!! haha, it really helped me out, thank you..

  • @AznCanadien5

    Works. Thank you so much!

  • @MrChristhesaxman Thanks so much Man, my headphones now work perfectly :).

  • FUCK YOU!!!

  • you just made me fuck my ipod over hardcore bro xD

  • Gorillaz!!! Clint Eastwood? I believe

  • Well I got it open! But now its broken..

  • @zSkilledd Same here I opened mine up, it still turns on but the touch pad on the iPod does not work. Any clues anyone?

  • i cant believe that actually worked thanks dude!

  • thumbs up for gorillaz

  • You idiot, turn your IPod off

  • broke my ipod.

  • I have an mp3 and the jack doesn't have a screw ):

  • Thanks. And Feel Good Inc. Nice.

  • Cracked my screen.. But I tried it on my old iPod .. So I'm not super upset

  • Dam people stop fighting on here it's how to fix ur iPod not an argument

  • @piperpipe201

was that clint eastwood by the gorillaz playing

  • It really works oh my god I was mad I thought I had to bring it to some place to get it fixd

  • all you dumbass people who broke your ipod, probably did not carefully and skillfully try and fix it. Unlike the gentleman in the video, tediously fixing his ipod.

  • You iPod touch screen is glued on. You will not be able to ease of the screen without first heating it to release the thermal glue. If you try to then it will crack. Unless your screen has already been replaced, in which case you may find the replacement glue is weaker than the original.

  • do it work if both left and right earphones don't sound? pleas tell me

  • ya it should but check with multiple headphones before even trying this.

  • @toughviper96 i want to know too :S

  • i like that song O.O

  • alright soo this might work for some people but it was just a huge waste of time for me! ahaha

  • my screen fuckin cracked...

  • @iLOVEtheWEBalot Now you gotta find a vid to fix your screen :P

  • @Jeanseb23 no, il buy a new one actually, not like your poor ass can buy one HAHA!

  • @iLOVEtheWEBalot go to hell bitch

  • @iLOVEtheWEBalot I'm not poor, i just don't waste my money when i can fix it myself. Btw your on a vid to fix your iPod, and you say I'm poor because i told you to fix your screen, use logic to see who's stupid. (Hint: You)

  • where do u live ???? u made me break my screen il come around to your house and beat ur mother 2 death until u give me money 4 a new 1 u fucking prick !!!!

  • @c1992J

    Hahaha enjoy failing at life.

  • @CommanderPayne just like how your mom fails to satisfy me in bed ;)

  • I though I was the only one

  • Dont do this shit! your gonna break you ipod screen!

  • lol. This good man is listening to Gorillaz at 0:17

  • I followed the instructions exactly, and now my ipod is working OK. It does sound a little off- the sound isn't as rich. But that could just be my cheap $2 ear buds.

  • I swear to god I just pushed a toothpick in the headphone jack and it felt like something moved like a couple millimeters and now it's working perfectly haha.

  • @MrChristhesaxman Please make a more detailed tutorial I really need mine fixed and I'm not smart enough to open it.

  • @MrChristhesaxman WORKED LOL

  • @MrChristhesaxman Hopeless, I tried your illogical advice, and it WORKED!! GENIUSS!! lol ( There was a little fuss on the toothpick when I pulled it out, it was probably just dirty)

  • @MrChristhesaxman thanks buddy :D

  • @MrChristhesaxman omg i just did that, i love you... lol

  • @MrChristhesaxman I cannot believe I tolerated my broken headphone jack for 8 months when the solution was this simple...thanks man!

  • @MrChristhesaxman Dude you are my hero. IT WORKED!

  • @MrChristhesaxman yeeeeeeeeee! LOL. it works

  • @MrChristhesaxman You are a fucking life saver man thank you

  • @kevinsb2 do you mind telling me what that guy's comment said? i can't find it in the comments.

  • @ADrIanABiiEbEr he said that he shoved a toothpick into his jack and it made the sound work and i tried it and it worked.

  • @MrChristhesaxman with the headphones in th jack or not?

  • @LesPaulRockerProduct I can't find that guy's comment? can you tell me waht it said? i realy want to fix my headphones. (:

  • I swear to god I just pushed a toothpick in the headphone jack and it felt like something pushed in like a couple millimeters and it's working perfectly haha.

  • @MrChristhesaxman dude i did that right now cuz i read your comment and it works haha you should be the onemaking the videos

  • Fuck apple, They create shitty products with built in obsolescence. They are meant to break down literally right after the warranty expires.

  • @Lushhdog11 my warranty has been out for over a year, and my ipod touch still works except the headphone jack which went out about a month ago

  • @TheEmofreak333 Yeah well mine went out within the warranty time and when I took it to bestbuy the douchebag at geeksquad said to run it over with my car but to put a blanket on the tires and bring it back telling them I dropped it.

  • Ur fucking way dosent work thnx I broke it!!!!

  • YOU MADE ME BRAKE MY FUCKING IPOD!

  • I cracked my screen when I tried to do this

  • like the song!

  • like my sound comes out funny like theres something in it will this fix it?

  • jeez at like 4:34 he hits the camera with the headphones..

  • does it matter what kind of headphones you have in order for this to work i have the gumy kind not the original ipod earbuds

  • @mickeythekid21 no it dosent

  • will it work for 3rd gen

  • @superk102 it work for my 3rd gen.

  • after you do it can you take the headphones out and put it back in and it sill work?

  • Awesome!

  • thank you so much aha SUBSCRIBED

  • thank you so much holy shit haha C: you made my life better sir

  • Restore ur iPod.

  • i got the moost annoying problem in the world with my itouch. it would be pausing my music and youtube videos randomly. i cant enjoy my music because it would be pausing by itself. can someone help.

  • @narutix07 Youtube could be because of a slow internet connection.

  • So...I did as instructed on your video...I tried turning my headphone in every direction, and pushing it in, but my left side still doesn't have music. Help ):

  • You just saved me 50$ on repairs. Thank you so much!!!

  • Thank you so much, this was sketchy at first, but it fixed my 2nd Gen iPod! Thanks!

  • You need the tiniest screwdriver! Even the tiniest one I own cannot unscrew it!

  • will this work on a second generation, or is there another video for that.

  • weird enough, both ears worked, but like I couldn't hear everything going on in a song, like with Muse, I couldn't hear the lyrics... took me like an hour to open the ipod touch because I was so worried something would break, but when I opened it, I could hear the whole range of music, lyrics of Muse and everything... all I did was open it up. I was going to adjust the headphone jack, but I didn't have to weird enough, I all of a sudden could hear everything like the lyrics 2 muse... weird

  • Will this work for ipod classic

  • @TheNacho53 i have no idea srry

  • @piperpipe201 Hey dude

  • @nerdysifi how is it my fault that you screwed up your own ipod because of someone elses video? wtf

  • I just tried this on my 2g... Never opened it before so i never realised how flimsy the ribbon cable 3 was so it ended up ripping with literally no force... Luckily my screen was already broken and needs replacement anyways... Just a warning!

  • I used guitar picks to pry open my 2nd gen

I advice to pry from the top cause I did it at the bottom by mistake and it cracked to the center button.

  • does 3rd gen itouch work?

  • Its not on the wrong side the video is mirrored

  • its a first gen look at the wifi thing on the back

  • ok, what if neither works but i still can he it if i push down on the headphone connector?

  • Dddaaaammm I tried this and couldn't get it off and now it's all shit and bent then after I read 1st gen only!

  • @aidanbb95 buy a new back housing on ebay. It's like $5-15 and your ipod will be like new. Installation is pretty easy

  • same here! dear god, i havnt listened to my touch in 2 years since it broke! even bought a Nano Touch to replace it! now i have 2 ipods! thanks tons man!

  • this shit worked fine as f*** my sound went back to normal

  • and thats not a first gen, the headphone socket is on the wrong side

  • @jonsforeman its the 1st gen, this one just happens to be on the other side.

  • @jonsforeman cuzz of u my freakin ipod doesnt work any more iHATE U

  • @nerdysifi your an idiot you know that

  • @jonsforeman you can tell by the black thing on the back of the ipod towards the top

  • @jonsforeman actually its the camera that reverses what you see....

  • @jonsforeman the camera reversed the video

  • @jonsforeman look at the screen, it's the camera that makes it look like it's on the wrong side.

  • @jonsforeman as was the 8:40 time at the beginning... obviously a mirror image buddy. but nice try.

  • my first gen ipod's sound doesnt work through the headphones, but if i push really hard on the haedphone jack it will work until i release it. What should i do?

  • My iPod touch 3G has a problem my headphones only hear from one side I tested it on my itouch 4g and both worked can this fix the problem?

  • the aluminum foil stops all sound. why is this happening, any suggestions?

  • Seems that this helped some and f***ed up others... Good Job......

  • I haven't tried this particular fix, but anyone looking to remove the front should heat it (incl corners) with a hair-dryer to melt the glue a bit before trying to open it.

  • Absolutely brilliant cheers. I now have no sound out of the left speaker and a massive crack down the screen following your instructions :)

  • @kazashippy don't blame him, you're the one that did it

  • WOW! Thank you so much!!! My life will now be in stereo again! Really easy to do. I was really scared about open my Ipod but it's pretty aesy and safe.
