@HaldoChan Well, the woman who wrote this song was Lesbian for one, so it fit. And it was different for each character. For Santana, it's partly wishing for her grandmother to accept her and it's partly how she used to feel about Brittany. For Shelby, it's trying to decide what to do about Puck. For Kurt, it's about wanting to get into NYADA and how he used to struggle with being gay. :)

I wanted Brittany to sing Santana a song in this episode or do something to show she supported Santana through this time. The writers sucked on that part of Glee. They had Finn go all out to show Santana she was accepted but they didn't even get a scene alone...Maybe that will change in upcoming episodes...

I liked how they did the grandmother's scene. It is quite common that family members don't want to talk about it because they would rather keep it a secret. The fam. members have to "come out" too to say that their kid/grandkid/whoever is gay. My mom said it's hard to have a gay kid (me) sometimes because people sometimes judge the parent. Idk, the scene was sad but realistic.

Rachel confesses to Figgins that she stuffed the vote box, so is suspended and cannot perform in Sectionals, and Puck and Shelby have sex.

For me the underlying meaning of the song in this episode is about wanting to be with someone you love for but turning self destructive, Santana to be able to love Brittany openly (but lashing out at everyone), Shelby wanting to be loved (but turning wrongly to a student for solace), and Quinn regretting giving up her baby (and now trying to get her back without thinking what's best for her baby). Even coach bieste would have been better than Kurt, eating thinking of Cooter

No offense but this is turning into The Santana show. Every episode, Santana has a big number (whether solo or lead on a group number). I love Santana and all but they need to give more time for other characters as well. I say give Quinn more solos than dramatic plots and Tina, who has been on the back seat since season 1 needs to have a story(and solos of course).

You really have to think about it plot-wise seeing as how all of the plots are set up close to the beginning of the seasons -- Santana's just seemed to be the most dramatic of the handful because it goes back from last season.
