You would not believe how long I've been looking for this movie.  I got it for Christmas when I was 3 years old (I'm 21 now), and as I had just figured out how to work the VCR player at the time, I ejected it and lost it. I was beginning to think it was a figment of my imagination...

Thanks so much for posting this video. Like others on here, this was one of my favorite Christmas specials when I was a kid. To this day, I especially love the opening song, it chokes me up a bit to hear it.

This was my favorite christmas show as a child. I used to watch it with my grandparents ever year. They taped it for me but through the years it was lost. To this day they still give me a gift in my stalking from blue toes! haha. I'm so happy I finally found it again. I have been searching for this movie for years!

That's very cool. I didn't realize the cartoon was based on a book, but I just looked it up. I hope your dad would have liked the animated version of his work, as I'm sure you do. It helped create some great Christmas memories for us kids of the 80s, so you two should be proud.
