A lot of talk about how Foster is a better player in the NFL than he was in college...I think one important aspect is how well he fits the Texans' system. Perfect for his running style.
I talked some much shit when they took Steve slaton out of the game to put this so called runing back I barley hard, and you knw wat I'm glad that happen, by far the smartest running back I've ever seen that's how you use blockers and he's honestly not that fast but he looks it plus his moves are freaken sick, #23 let's go texans
Even with Foster's disappointing Senior year, the fact that he went undrafted is absolutely mind-boggling! Not a single team would even take a 7th round flier on him, and that's including the Texans. Just goes to show you that even the guys that are actually paid to scout these college athletes are capable of making bone-headed mistakes.
Foster is a great running back. He is so smooth and can break it at anytime. He looks different than he did in college tough. He looks waaaaaay better.
im so glad the Texans didnt give up on him last year and moved him up from the practice squad...Texans go from no rushing attack in 09 to leagues leading rusher in 2010...GO TEXANS!!!
He isn't fast as you all can see. He isn't elusive either. What he is is incredibly smart. He uses his blockers beautifully! The has what coaches love in a running back which is PATIENCE. He also isn't afraid of contact. And the kid also has some great hands!
Foster has PLENTY of speed and can get to the corner consistently in the NFL. He isn't the same back that he was in college....or the same back that you see above. He trained his ass off with his brother in the offseason and came back trimmed and cut and it is showing on the field, he is a step faster this season. Sometimes players bloom late and Foster could be a player that didn't hit his athletic peak until after college.
@cwright8426 I think you are dead on with this. I'm a Tennessee fan and while I loved Foster when he was at UT, he's so much better now than he was here. Like you said, Foster was probably a late bloomer and is just now hitting that athletic peak.
Odd, Foster isn't the fastest back, he isn't the most elusive back, put somehow he gets it done. I will say, if he can't get around you, he will plow right into you, and he has heart.
Arian (The Barbarian) Foster! Thee MAN IN TEXAS!!! His line this last week vs. the Colts was 33 carries for 231 yards and 3 tds in leading the Texans to victory. Before that the colts had beat the Texans 16 of 17 times!!! Oh yeah, he also scored 46 points for my fantasy team and I was high scorer at 119 points. Lastly, he is from the 505 aka Duke City aka A- Town aka Albuquerque and went to Valley HS for 2 yrs before moving to San Siego with his brother who was in college at the time.
i'm a Houston Texan fan, and the performance Arian Foster showed the last two games. and from seeing this highlight tape that's 8-9 minutes long, i think foster slayton and tate.. will be a very good combination for a long time.
I can see why they signed this guy to a two year contract undrafted. He has got to be one of the good values of the draft coming back from injury and a bad team after being a monster last season. He has alot oh highlights like the best backs in the draft do.
This dude is going to be a star in NFL saw him against georgia this past season and he was getting his yards and his offensive line was horrible. Now he joings an up an coming team the Houston Texans . Go Texansssssssss
The Texans signed him to a 2 year contract... very unusual for an undrafted free agent... but I guess they knew New Orleans was after him also... He's exactly the back Houston needed. Welcome to the Texans.
I really am glad that he's in Houston! Go Texans!

Foster has such subtle little moves that always seem to end in him getting that last couple of yards.
