thats right, order a exposed aggregate concrete mix. more money than regular ready-mix but well worth it.

  • Hi jmercer1820, The mistake the concrete guys made was to fill the forms with concrete faster than they could evenly apply the aggregate to the top surface, so the concrete was already hardening in some of the forms by the time they were applying the aggregate. They also applied a sort of skimpy layer of aggregate the first time around rather than the more dense layer I had asked for.

  • I am really glad, that it all ended well.

Just wondering, what exactly did they do wrong the first time ?

(I am thinking of getting exposed aggregate concrete for my drive, so it will be useful to know what to watch out for)

  • Thanks for asking, jmercer1820. They came back and did it all over, and the second time it looked great. It still looks pretty great 3 years later, too.

  • How did the final concrete job turn out ?

Are you still unhappy and dissatisfied ?

  • no problem to fix that. a concrete saw and hammer evens it right up.

  • you should have used pebble mix from a local pre mix company you would have a even finish.
