  • @Imprezaowner27 appreciate your comment :)

  • is it really worth the $530?? I work for t-mobile and we dont get an employee discount on this phone since its thru google...so i have an option between discounted HD2's BBerry 9700, or a full price Nexus

  • @Imprezaowner27 dude it is entirely on what your requirements are...i wanted to move from keypad based phone to touch based phone....i found the nexus one that time to be the fastest and brightest...and i doesn't hurt that it's backed by behemoth "Google"...since last 3 months i haven't had a single issue with the handset and totally recommend this to everyone...

  • tunewiki is really good, i had it on my N900, as a widget. its friggin awesome. the Nexus one has ATT 3g band now. im thinking about goin out and getting one

  • go for it bro...still no regrets

  • @rahulgos

that Sprint Super Sonic just killed any hope of me buying a nexus one. its the best phone ever created. look it up just announced today, gi to engadget

  • @nicho, im not pretty sure but try meabo.... i have it installed in my n1 but i havent used it yet cause im using fring... which ties up all my messaging account..like yahoo, and skype.. hope this helps

  • android has become analogous to pc os runs across multitude of mobile hardware... nokia is rumored to consider changing from s60/maemo to android

  • hard to believe nokia changing to android at this juncture since they invested heck of lot in acquiring symbian foundation and making it open source...but it will be win/win situation if it changes or adds android in it's flagship database...my breath awaits for this mega news

  • what the best IM apps for nexus one? for msn?

    is it ebuddy?

  • im+

  • sorry nicho...im not at all a chat guy...perhaps someone can help

  • im using ebuddy

  • God i love this phone, i ordered a HTC desire couple of days ago, really cant wait. Thanks for the video! Are all these apps free?

  • yes

  • wassup my man! hey i know the nexus one is capacitive and all that; but i wanna know if the screen is glass like the htc hd2 and the iphone or if it's thesame plastic face like the htc magic and G1, thanks man.

  • woah...amazingly technical question...and i thought i was technically sound...i have used iphone and can say that the touch and feel of the screen is quite similar to the nexus one

  • @MajorrBison The Nexus One has a glass screen, and is prone to cracking at some point. The screen is much better than the one on the iPhone because of its vivid picture quality.

  • i don't really care about the picture quality, as long as it feels just like what the iphone offers scratch proof glass.

  • hello, my fellow indian brother

  • shout back to you too my indian friend

  • appka hindi ate hae

  • haan ji...hindi aati hai mujhey

  • mae bangladesh se hu lekin mujhey hindi ate hae

  • Love the accent man. I too have the much loved indian accent. Great with the ladies!

  • "Green Chillies". Comedy gold.

  • I saw nothing here thats not already on the iphone. flixster, the laid out text mesages, weather, news, twitter, GPS, road conditions, ect ect. What was it you were waiting for?

  • everything the iphone has + Open source

  • how is that helpfull. I'm not really sure what "open source" means.

  • it means that apple does not restrict what the developers should code...also it is not up to their whims and fancies which app should appear in the app store and which ones shouldnt...

  • Ohhh, ok.. I just took 5 minutes to jailbreak it to not have that issue. Love the jailbroken apps. Thanks for the info.

  • honestly for some strange reason everyone's asking me the same question that why I didn't jump over to iPhone...I think the reasons are:

    1. 1 GHz processor (it really does make difference)

    2. Multi-Tasking (Also important for Power user like me)

    3. Android based handsets are manufactured by many handset manufacturers, not just one

    4. I couldn't resist the thrill of being one of the early adopters :)

  • @rahulgos

    1. what processor did it have before? I'm shocked at how much faster my 3gs is over my older 3g version, now apps open as fast as I can tap them.

    2. Yah I added Kirikae app to multi task, not finding it very usefull but it's there. I just want to play music and run another app at the same time, and it's always done that.

    3. How is that helpfull?

    4. Can't blame you there, I sometimes give in too : )

  • 1. I migrated from a Nokia N95. I was planning to switch over to touch screen phone and couldn't resist the specs of Nexus One which boasts the fastest processor and the best OMOLED touch screen

    2. I run 4-5 apps simultaneously and am a bluetooth freak.Heard iphones only support bluetooth for headset connectivity

    3. iphone does not have to compete with anyone to innovate than predecessor, hence it took it's own sweet time to include absolute basic functionality like copy/paste & video recording.

  • @rahulgos

    1. oh yes I can see your upgrade advantage there.

    2. mine connects to my car stereo via blutooth, not sure of anything else, not important to me, what else would you want to connect with?

    3. yahhhh they were slow, that's why I jailbroke and got it almost instantly. No waiting around for those features.

I still want to play around with the G phone to get a feel of it. Tried the droid, seemed side by side I couldn't find a difference. Except style.

  • Your video was a little shaky but "Green Chillies!" more than made up for that. Great video thanks for that.

I wonder what other "easter eggs" or anomalies are hidden in OS??

  • yah...i recorded from iPod Nano 5th Generation without any helping hand...this is one of the drawbacks of have an ultra compact video recorder :)

  • over the air...one fine day it just poped up asking me to install the update...there is a resource somewhere that describes how you can do it manually as well...

  • lol Table XD, no biggy just funny hehe at 1:12 or something.

  • rahul,

seems like you have the problem with "back" and "home" button..the screen is NOT very responsive.

  • jinparanoia,

the bottom 4 menu buttons don't respond when directly touched over it.

their sensors are close to it's top....which takes some time getting used to, but works like charm once you get a hang of it...

  • lmfao @ the end...that was funny

  • Funny video. I want this phone and I wouldve got the Iphone when it came out if I had the money but Im glad I didnt. Android is here to stay!!!!! How's the bank of america app? Did you feel safe using it? Where is your accent from?

  • The bank of America application is quite safe. My accent is from the second most populous nation in the world: )

  • india?

  • right on :)

  • i wanted a N1 but i think ill wait for the Motorola Motoroi to come out..then ill decide

  • i only liked the list of those apps. looks like it might get in handy one day.

  • haahha the end was funny

  • 01:09 com -fa- table lol

  • @RMBTSC loll

  • HAHAHAH yeah i heard that too i thought he was talking about a table ahahaha

  • Hay i agree with you the nokia n95 8gb was the best phone i've ever had.i've tryed the iphone but it wasn't me so i'm about to buy this phone cause it has my full attention i just hope it dosen't let me down

  • dude understand that this phone is not perfect....if you are ok with not using the phone under direct sunlight and not listening to music in loudspeaker, then it's a gem...

  • Hey could you put a list of these applications in the info?

  • Added list of applications discussed in video in the description

  • awesome dude I agree with theshockmister that you have more good info about the nexus one here than just about any other video on youtube, post more if you have the time, thanks!

  • Wonderful I have learn't more about Nexus than in any other posting Maybe you need to keep video still, but that adds to the sincerity as well!.

Do you use any SSH or other IT tools you use!. As an older type I am going to love the WikiLyrics it will make music understandable! Regards!.

    Paul NZ.

  • haha...Recording with an iPod Nano doesn't give that much stability since we can't hold the device in both hands

What's an SSH / IT Tool?

  • SSH - Secure Shell

You can get one called "connectbot" on the android marketplace.

    IT Tool (varies)

You can get "Network Discovery", "Wifi Analyzer", and "Whois" all from the android marketplace.

All great if your into networking.

  • thanks for the info madmax...

im not into these so cannot provide any insight, but hope you feedback is useful to someone looking for this info...

  • Thank you rahulgos very thoughtful post keepup the good work!

  • Green chillies lol

  • I want this phone SOO BADLY!! Google is being a pain in my ass & saying I'm not eligible for another line, that is BULLSHIT!! my father and I have been with T-mobile for YEARS! It seems like they want ppl to just pay for the full price, which I am NOT doing..

  • As a rule of thumb...early adopters are generally the biggest sufferers....However, I heard somewhere that those whose paid $379 [I suppose those are the existing customers who are upgrading] are getting $100 refund via checkout...

Nice id by the way p.u.s.s.y.l.i.c.k.e.r. lol

  • I just wanted to comment. This is a great compilation of apps and Nexus impressions. Thank you for coming back and letting us know! My N1 will be my first Android phone (switching from an iPhone), and I can tell you your video is INVALUABLE! Thank you!

  • i would love to hear the experience of using Nexus 1 after switching from an iPhone...especially touch sensitivity

  • When I get around to purchasing mine, I will come back after a few days of messing around with it and let you know. Either via a video response, or written response!

  • I hope they will eliminate the apps size limit soon and develop more apps, I can't wait to get my Nexus.

  • These guys are doing a pretty good job getting the apps in android market...20,000 apps and counting are quite a huge number....

  • i love my nexus one. did you download

the dolphin browser so you can do multi touch?

  • i have heard a lot about that browser....i will surely check it out soon

  • Ive tried it at the verizon store but it wasnt as smooth but I didnt try the 2.1 new dolphin browser. Is it any better?

  • the pinch browsing is now supported in the native nexus one browser after the update i received yesterday...this now suffices my needs, although the touch sensitivity of the iphone is still far better than nexus one
