Damn thats nice! Lets hope it last. No one takes care of anything they dont own. At least in the military it seemed that way. Fire extinguishers broken into, smoke detectors broken, windows broken, people stealing stuff, graffiti, etc etc.
@boycottRAVENISE00 It's very possible you could find work. I just got home from seeing family up in NW North Dakota and heard they had brought in 50 ppl from minneapolis area last spring just to work in Walmart there because there weren't enough locals to work. Not sure if this helps but just heard it from a resident of nearby town yesterday. Good Luck!
I checked with our PR manager and he told me it was okay to release the name of the company. The company is Knife River. We do Concrete and Aggregate all over the nation.
@grizzleyguyful I also applied to Halliburton recently. Do they as well as other companies provide the man camps or are they rented out individually like apartments?
My boyfriend is headed to man camp right now.... I've read up on a few things but this doesn't look anything like how I've heard it described. This looks sort of comfortable....?
@SweetRoseCj I was in the same boat, SweetRoseCj. I had "shanty town" pictured in my head on the way there. I was expecting a bunch of rough looking guys in a filthy rundown cluster of shacks. I was very surprised when I saw them.
@wolfie121 I am not sure what this company's PR policy is so I would prefer to avoid the potential trouble it may cause me by mentioning what company it is.
@kapackard I have no idea, except that if you are able to work HARD and not complain, you can probably get a job. understand that although you will probably be making good money, it is expensive for housing there so it's not just all riches. That said, a smart guy can live lean and stash away a lot of money if he can resist the temptation to blow it all. At your age you have nothing to lose, do you? I'd suggest go there, present yourself as intelligent, eager and strong you will get a job
