Private sector ideology needs to be pushed for corrections. Real mis-informed is to ignore those necessary corrections and evolution. We are now just using our government for that purpose in cross field expertise. Public health care needs to be pushed as well so they can really provide what we want from them with the potential we build into them. Private and public can't divide us. We determine not to neglect anybody so we all can benefit from our modern facilities and technology.
Tom...since the people of South Dakota realized how big of a joke you are, why don't you leave governing to people who can be trusted. You are useless.
Thank you I appreciate your insight, but lets remember what party I work for, I was elected as a democrat, I would be ostracized by my peers if I tried to do something productive, my favorite part of working in washington, was the balls, and I'm not referring to the black tie parties either, I mean Ted Kennedy's , his balls are magnificent, they taste like salty scotch whiskey, and they rested so perfectly over the bridge of my nose, I used to call him "The Snorkel" oh the memories.
Speaking of mediocrity... this guy is the definition of mediocrety. South Dakota State University? University of Pheonix online has higher credentials.
haha this guy had to withdraw over tax problems, just exactly what kind of change represent?
he was the ultimate washington insider, people describe possible replacement Bradly as Daschle without the tax problems, he should be described as Daschle without the Iraq war problem, the mega lobbyst problem, the incopetent senate leader problem, the din't even have the guts to run a presidential campaign problem
I don't know bout all you folks but this Nationalized Healthcare sounds GREAT to me!! Why should I be responsible for MY own healthcare? Let the government take care of my ass! Now I can spend more of my pimp money on weed, ho's and bling.....
And let's not forget how many regulations and rules government piles on that actually increase cost in and of themselves. Imagine how much we could save if we deregulated and focused regulation where it increases efficiency and cut cost, rather than mandating all these idiotic rules that just put more pressure on the medical community.
A person in America spending a year or more uninsured with chronic illnesses is actually a very small percentage of the total uninsured population. Besides, even if the 47 million number was true, ,that's only about 15% of 300 million who can't afford healthcare. Are the other 85% supposed to pay for all these people and nationalize our system just for the 15% who can't afford it? That's an extreme overhaul! It's not necessary. Something is not a right just because you can't afford it.
What they don't tell you is that that 47 million number comes from grossly misinterpreted Census Data. The Census only lists people who are UNINSURED, not "uninsured because they can't afford it." Plenty of young people don't have healthcare b/c they're healthy and don't wanna pay for it right now. Plenty of folks making 50-75 grand or more could afford it but spend too much on other stuff or just don't buy insurance. And most people who can't afford it are very short-term non-insurees.
The so-called healthcare crisis is largely a myth that's been perpetuated by regulation proponents and friends of nationalized healthcare for decades. They claim about 1 in 6 are uninsured (about 50 mil), but what they don't dare do is go deeper into those numbers. Because, if they did, they'd realize what a scam that claim is. Only about 8-13 million of those are actual US citizens who can't afford it long-term. At least 10 million are illegal aliens. And many COULD afford it.
Tom Daschle...you are a liar, phony, and have no place in public service. You cannot be trusted to pay your taxes like I do, took over $200K in payments for "speaking engagements" in 2008 from the health care industry, and the new administration wants you to govern this system? Fuck You! This is being written by a guy who is self employed, and just opened an envelope from Anthem health care who tells me my insurance is going up by 22% this year. Times are tough enough...Fuck you Tom.
Daschle's mistake for failing to report past earnings was quote "innocent" by John Kerry. I wonder if you or I made a tax return mistake of not reporting 80K if we would be forgiven and given a cabinet position. NO, we would be in jail.
I wonder if you or I go bankrupt for excessive spending, would we get bailed out? NO, we would get a cardboard box and be sleeping under so bridge.

People come to the US in droves because it is the closest thing to a libertarian society.
People who come for this reason don't care about health.

What about the myth that paying thousands a year for insurance, or being bankrupted by medical bills, is better than paying taxes?
suew0 3 years ago 2
Indeed.
Daschle doesn't address that particular myth, but he's a Democrat, what can you expect?
It's a good speech, nonetheless.
