Only OSU game I've had the privilege of attending. 2005 vs. Minnesota, I was seated in the loop of the shoe. Ray Small got knocked unconscious during the game and Troy Smith had his only rushing touchdown during that heisman campaign. Amazing moment, that stadium gave me goosebumps the entire game. What an experience.
Im not being rude, just curious, but why do all big 10 fans, esp ohio fans always gotta talk about SEC teams not playing up north in cold weather etc? It sounds like poor excuses as to why they always struggle against the SEC. Yes weather plays a vital role in performance, but football players can tune it out if they have a true drive to win. Plus bowl games are more important than a reg season game up north. And from what ive seen, the SEC steps up in those big games, with 5 straight titles.
basically to dot the i and not be part of the OSU marching band you have to be EXTREMELY successful or do great things in your life to achieve this honor. I would cry if I was chosen for this.
I'd heard the only non-band members to dot the i were Bob Hope and Woody Hayes. I hadn't heard about OSU grad Nicklaus doing it. Has anybody else been granted this honor?
OSU Presidents Gordon Gee and Novice Fawcett, boxer Buster Douglas, composer Richared Heine, and Anne Droste, wife of former OSUMB director Paul Droste have all dotted the i
They let Buster Douglas do it also. Why, I don't know. Might as well let Maurice Clarett do it.
Bob Hope, Jack Nicklaus, Coach Hayes, Buster Douglas, Gordon Gee, I think 2 band directors and wives. I want to say 9 all together. The big 3 are what gets you choked up.
Buster Douglas is from Columbus, and was not only the heavyweight champion of the world, but did the world a favor by showing us that Mike Tyson could be beaten. That deserves at least an i-dot and the key to Columbus and any other city he wants.
I'm not even an Ohio State fan, but I love script ohio and the tradition of dotting the I...It's one of the reasons why college football is so amazing. Traditions and pride.
YankeesandRangersfan: OSU is NOT for YOU.... They only take a chosen few.... You'd better stay in New York state.... Because you're a slacker who just wont rate.... Besides all that you're not so fun.... You're a sociopath with quite a foul tongue.... For when you're all battered, and tattered, YOU BLEW.... For You & Obama curse the Red, White, and Blue! Go Bucks! God Bless The USA! McCain/Palin 2008! ;)
@quaker91 The SEC could win every National Championship for the next 25 years, and I wouldn't change anything about Big 10 football. We play hard and long and give everything for the glory of our schools and the conference. 3 YARDS AND A CLOUD OF DUST BABY!

Top Ten Things Ohio State learned in New Orleans: 1. They lost. 2. Cajuns know how to party. 3. Cajuns know how to play football. 4. Hookers may have VD. 5. Tigers do eat OSU Tree Nuts. 6. The SEC is superior. 7. Bourbon Street was not named by accident. 8. Hot sauce really is hot. 9. Grief counselors were on hand at the Dome for OSU fans. 10. The French Quarter never closes!
@MStiff726 I hear the same argument EVERY year by ignorant blowhards from Texas. At least Texas had the balls to play at OSU when it was warm. I'd love to see them play a bowl game up north when the weather gets to I don't know... negative 200? Whatever the hell it is in Michigan in November. The shit Big 10 teams go through during there season says a lot. Unfortnately they won't receive recognition because the weather isn't nice!
@MStiff726 How about getting your facts straight. Alabama didn't play a Big 10 school in 1989 and if you're thinking Penn State, they were independent and Bama beat them in Happy Valley.
That Florida game was while they had at quarterback a certain future Heisman winner and insufferably obnoxious coach, correct? Spurrier? My hat is off that as-yet-undisclosed Big 10 school, even if it's Michigan.
He had to be thinking of his Dad at that point. Story goes Nicklaus Senior and one of Arnie's Army almost came to blows at the '62 U.S. Open when Jack beat Palmer at Oakmont. Guess who prevented the fight? WOODY HAYES!!

Hey bucks, from the UM marching band, you're welcome for the script ohio idea. I'm surprised you guys can even spell it.
Kane9891 2 years ago
believe it or not you never marched out the script...you simply marched out already in the formation. nice tribute to ohio state though.

Michigan couldn't even march out of a block and write it out. Who's the dumb one now?
BillyBong05 2 years ago
@BillyBong05 Well, I mean...we most certainly could, but writing out "Ohio" takes so damn long that writing out "Michigan" would just be nonsensical.

Top 10 Things I can infer about VictoryForLSU from his posts:
1. He's 12
2. He has no friends because he apparently has nothing better to do than post on YouTube on OSU videos
3. He is completely braindead for reasons cited in #2
3. He's recovering from VD he got from a hooker in the French quarter
4. His pet kitten died trying to eat a Buckeye
5. He once had a humiliating experience with hot sauce
6. He's still bitter about the Civil War
7. He got cut from summer tryouts for TBDBITL
