Thanks for the great video. What type of cats do you have? One of them looks like a main coon but can't remember which one. Did you brush them after you bathed them? You did a great job with your cats.
@thegirlsmom511 Thanks! All my cats are rescue - these 3 I saved from the kill shelter Harris County Animal Control. Cleo (the darker one) I believe has some Main Coon and Clarence may, but he may mostly be Ragdoll and flame-point Siamese. When they let me, I try to brush them a little as they dry so they won't get hairballs trying to groom themselves, but definitely when they are completely dry.
Surely Clarence deserves his own fan club? Especially as he sits patiently in the plastic rack waiting for his rinse-off. And he's a good conversationalist, too.
@pinoyALLmotorEVOIXMR - no the water doesn't have to be that high, but Cleo and Clarence like to sorta swim so I fill it like that (plus it's easier to get the soap off). They don't have to be trained. I got Clarence when he was 3 - I held him near the water and slowly put him in and he was fine. If I got a reaction like I did from my cat Emily (beginning of video) I would not have continued.
@DeborahThomas So what do you suggest for kittens? I really want to get a cat but that's the only thing that hold me back..if they don't behave in water. I mean it's unique for a pet cat to be bathed
my mom got our cat declawed so they dont claw at furniture and so they dont brutally scar us when we give them bathes ur cats must b well behaved and used to it cause i tried to get my cats used to it at an early age , it didnt work out.
If I had tried to bath my cat like this it would have exited the bath via my arms and face with fully extended claws - you obviously have a magit touch. Well done you :-)
@melissabell141 - It's best to check with your vet because all cats are different. If your cat has the temperament for a bath, you could try around 6 wks old. Start by just running the water in the sink and drippling a little on her/him. The main concern is not to bathe an older cat before checking with a vet - they may have heart problems, and do not give a sedative.
@dinacomm - It's best to check with your vet. Not all cats like baths, and there are other alternatives (like products that are "waterless baths" - lots of brushing does wonders too!). The vet would be the best one to tell you about food and you other questions. Some cats require special diets.
I'd say don't bathe them. Most really don't like baths (Cleo and Clarence are exceptions). A good brushing can do wonders, and maybe smooth on a little water to see if she/he likes it.
I think the gray and yellow cat might be mine, the one that doesn't like baths. I am not saying this to push anybody's buttons. She ran away about a year ago. Did you find her, or buy her? Just curious. I live in Austin.
Hi - Her name is Emily. I got her from Harris County Animal Control when she was about a year old and she is 6 now (she "stars" in my videos "See Emily Play"). I hope you find your cat! I have one missing and I know how hard that is.
Sorry, so what do you do with the cat who doesnt like water? My cat goes crazy and screams. I did everything the same way you do and he did what your first cat did. Do you just not wash him?
I can't believe your cats and how calm they are. While I was watching, my cats were both yowling with sympathy, disturbing Bill's beauty rest. Maybe Cleo could come over and sing them some lessons!
I agree cool thxx

does the water have to be that high? o_o I think that's the reason why the other one doesn't wanna get in the tub
also they have to be trained to take a bath ever since they're kittens? that's how they got used to it?
