  • Thanks.

Sydney Central is much less interesting (to me). There are lots of boring electric intercity sets, and the Xplorer/ Endeavour railcars are bland. XPTs are photogenic but just run in & out.

The beauty of Spencer St is that so many trains are locomotive-hauled and require shunting, there is such variety of diesel motive power, the Vlocity sets are pretty, the yard is wide open and the carriage sheds so close.

  • Great series of videos. Even though it's my home town, I'm surprised by how busy Southern Cross seems at this hour of the day.

Any chance of a similar series from Central in Sydney ?

RE 100th Vlocity carriage, I read somewhere the other day that the Vlocity is the most numerous DMU in Australia ever. Not bad considering how small (less than 20 2 car sets from memory) the original order was 10 years ago.
