  • i think your Exhaust sounds damn good!

  • DAYUUUUM!!!! That sound better than my R/T Stratus....(Serious Thinking Face)....I wanna intrepid now dammit!!!

  • Hey, man. I have a 2002 trep, and want to replace my muffler as well. I know that for this gen has two resonators and a muffler in between. Did you eliminate the resonators? Did you put the muffler in the same spot as the stock or place it where the last resonator used to go. I'm a bit thrown off by this setup, so any input would be great to get me started on my muffler mods. Thanks!

  • @AMTrombley0924

The front resonator that collects the 2 down pipes from the manifolds is still in place. I cut out the stock muffler and rear resonator (which is what your stock exhaust tip is connected to) and replaced both with just the SS Magnaflow muffler and tip. Hope that helps.

  • @rce2win How much did it run ya for? I wanna start savin up

  • @AMTrombley0924

I picked up the muffler slightly used for $35 on Ebay and had it installed at a small local muffler shop. Unless you know someone there, don't take it to a big name exhaust shop b/c they'll try to charge you a ton of money to install it. The shop i go to, the guy really knows his stuff and does great work at a good price.

  • Hey Bro. Which model exhaust tip is this?

  • I haven't looked at the setup of my exhaust on my 2000 3.5L Intrepid R/T. Is the muffler welded or just clamped to the piping? I've been looking at the shop manual and it sounds like the muffler is welded to the pipe upstream towards the front resonator and clamped to the downstream pipe that goes to the back resonator and tailpipe. I am just asking since you've already done it. I wanted to do a Flowmaster 40 series setup on mine.

  • Hey I'm Looking to install something like this on my intrepid, Do you know what kind of Part number is on that magnaflow?

  • Sounds really nice, just bought all the supplies to do my 3.5. Im doing a true dual setup with two glasspacks, I'll post vids probably monday when its all finished.

  • I've heard 2.7s that are louder and yours is a 3.5. Wow.

  • just because its louder doesnt make it better

  • DID YOU REMOVE THE RESONATOR UP FRONT AFTER THE CATS AND THE TWO END MUFFLERS FOR JUST ONE MUFFLER ?

    atleast my set up is

    CAT RIGHT

    CAT LEFT

    RESONATOR

    PIPE BACK AND AROUND

    VERTICAL MUFFLER

AND A MUFFLER OUT THE BACK

IS THAT ANY HELP TO UNDERSTAND WHAT IM ASKING lol i dont know any other way to put it but in full detail IM wanting the RAW RAWR but not a RICY POS SOUND ANY HELP I HAVE THE 2.7 DOHC

  • @odin5150 The "back muffler" you're referring to, the one right before the tail pipe ends, is not a muffler but another resonator. The only muffler in the "vertical" one. That is what got replaced here. Whether our pal rce2win took out resonators, I don't know.

  • sounds great im looking for that sound outta my 2.7 DOHC Intrepid 2002 SE what sould i do to get that ? take out the RESONATOR and install a Y pipe and a magnaflow?

  • Very helpful input. While my car doesn't sound as good as a SBC with a nice exhaust, i think it sounds pretty good for a V6. That and driving a muscle car 350 miles a week to/from work wouldn't really do me well in the MPG department.

Post some videos of your car, let's see what you got.

  • Sounds good, I have the 3.5, and i'm looking to get the same sound something that turns heads

  • Tough to go wrong with Magnaflow. Stainless muffler and the proper installation, the thing should well outlive the car.

  • Cats on or off?

  • On...they're built in to the down-pipes off the manifolds so it's pretty much impossible to remove them w/out a custom set of headers. I also left the front-most resonator on, where the 2 down-pipes meet up at the front.

  • $35 used Magnaflow off Ebay, $30 for the tip(which i am swapping out this spring for a nicer looking one), and $90 to get the piping bent up and everything installed.

  • awesome ann arbor as the one in michagan?

    i live in michagan

  • That would be the one. Where in MI are you at?

  • i live in beverly hills, michagan, you?

  • I'm in the Farmington area...not too far from you.

  • Ann Arbor exhaust shop. Guy who did it really knows his stuff. He's also the one who ran the true duals on my '94 Intrepid. If you're local, i would be more than happy to pass you the contact info.

  • is this with or without the mid muffler installed? sounds realy cool btw

  • without...the only stock component left are the cats and the front resonator. you won't get any sound change with the muffler left in place.

  • ok thanks for the advice!

  • no problem...any time

  • I want to say it's a model # 14326, 2.5" in/out. I bought it slightly used off Ebay for $35 so i'm not 100% sure. It's a universal stainless, should be able to find one to fit your Sebring.

  • put in N and rev it. or does the limiter work in N too?

  • I'm not much for just bouncing the motor off the rev limiter for no reason. Gives you the idea anyways.

  • yea i kno. it sounds real nice. i love the "Chrysler Wine" at start up... that is what a real car is supposed to sound like!

  • this is the sexiiest sounding intrepid I have ever heard =]

i wonder what the 2.7 liter engine will sound like

  • I've got the 2.7 with a glass pack on it. It was originally done as a joke between me and some of my friends but it actually ended up sounding good. Im going to run true duals on it with glass packs once the weather turns. I can post a clip if you like.

  • Dude if you can Id love to see it. =]

  • give me about a day ill post a quick shot of the pipes and the sound.

  • at low revs that kinda sounds like my dads caddy deville

  • Thanks, i like it. Doesn't do it justice in park b/c of the rev limiter. Sounds much better at full throttle going down the road.

  • ohh yeah......can you make a vid of you goin down the road?

  • I'll work on that when the weather warms up. Maybe i can talk my brother into riding in the trunk as i go down the road. LOL

  • LOL that would be funny!

  • wow...that sounds nice

  • Add anything to what? If you're talking about the motor, i'm running a aluminum intake w/ large K&N cone filter. My cardomain site has a ton of pics...look me up under the same user name. I got the Magnaflow muffler, slightly used, off Ebay for $35. Have a local exhaust shop i use bend up a little pipe and i was off and running.

  • yo man what type of muffler did you use? and if u rember do you no what size it was? 2.25 or 2.50? cause i wana put a magnaflow 60 series on my intrepid but i dont no what size to use

  • wow very hot sound !

  • the popping sound sounds great.

  • Hey, my name is Ivan and I work on Dodge Cars & Trucks, i soup' them up really good.
